Election '08 Vice President Watch

It’s almost time for Obama and McCain to announce their choices for VP, who has what it takes to be the #2 man or woman in the White House?

Obama: Joe Biden

McCain: Mitt Romney

Re: Election '08 Vice President Watch

^ Biden would be honoured I am sure, Obama being the first clean, articulate, bright African American..

These would make the most sense in terms of votes, but might not happen cause of personality conflicts.

Obama: Hillary

McCain: Romney

Re: Election '08 Vice President Watch

Obama:Kucinich

McCain:Romney

You can go and register at my.barackobama.com/vp and when VP is announced, you'd get an email of the news before its released to the press/tv/etc..

Or can text VP to 62262.

Hillary would be too divisive. Obama can't crack 50% as it is, and it the prevailing thought is that Hillary can never crack 50%.

I doubt Kucinich would even be selected for a low level cabinet post, nevermind VP.

IMO Romney is very risky since his faith will turn off the religious base that McCain needs to show up big. That being said, McCain is an idiot, so he might choose him.

If I get 2 choices:
Obama - Bayh (safe, clean cut white guy from red state) or Biden (experience, foreign policy, tested in national campaigns)

McCain - Romney (fiscal conservative, looks good next to the Crypt Keeper) or Pawlenty (blue state, Christian conservative, young, McCain supporter)

Biden
Romney

In fact I wish these were the presidential candidates

McCain will pick Ridge.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Barack Obama's campaign announced Tuesday the launch of "Republicans for Obama," venturing deep onto rival White House contender John McCain's turf to woo disenchanted conservatives.

The Democrat's campaign said the group was being spearheaded by former lawmaker Jim Leach of Iowa, former Rhode Island senator Lincoln Chaffee, and Rita Hauser, who was a prominent fundraiser for President George W. Bush.

Obama to choose VP by friday, announcement on Saturday.

Majority of Democrat delegates are putting up Hillary for VP as the first choice. Other possible contenders include Joe Biden, Bill Richardson, John Edwards, and Evan Bayh.

**(CBS) **Senator Hillary Clinton is by far the favorite choice for the number two spot on the Democratic ticket, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll of delegates to the Democratic convention. When asked who they would like Barack Obama to select, 28 percent volunteer her as their top choice for Vice Presidential nominee.

Six percent volunteer Delaware Senator Joe Biden, and four percent mention two other unsuccessful Democratic candidates: New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson and former North Carolina Senator John Edwards. [Most of the interviews for this poll were conducted before Edwards admitted to having an extramarital affair.] Another 4 percent volunteer Indiana Senator Evan Bayh.
