Eidi

Re: Eidi

My first Eidi was very special- I was visiting my inlaws for a few weeks and the day before I was leaving to come back home, my mother in law threw me a surprise (early) birthday party at midnight. She then gave me my birthday present and my eidi. There were different eid gifts from everyone in the family. Parents in law gave me a beautiful suit from India, clutch, my favorite perfume set, makeup kit from Sephora, and cash. Hubby’s grandmother gave me cash, purse, perfume set and gold jhumkas. Mil also bought gifts for the two younger BILs to give me- a beautiful black top and necklace set. Besides that, my inlaws’ two closest family friends also gave me eidi- one aunty is from India so she always gifts the most stunning clothes from there, this time she gave me a black net suit with sequins and silver work all over along with card and cash. The other aunty gifted me a white gold and sapphire (my birthstone) bracelet and cash.
Husband was confused what to buy as he usually never shops for girls so while window shopping at some Indian boutique once, he bought me a saree that I told him I really liked. Then later, he put some cash secretly in my purse before I was leaving for the airport as he knew I wouldn’t take it and later told me it was his Eidi for me. I still have it, infact I told him I plan on passing those bills to my son :hehe:

Now as for this Eid, it already passed but husband is coming here to spend his two weeks of vacation with us and two days ago, my FIL called me early in the morning to ask if I liked white gold or platinum.. which got me really confused. Hubby pretended later as if they were just shopping around for my mil but later my fil told me that my saas was so mad at him for ruining the surprise for me.. lol.. I still don’t know what they have gotten me but I am assuming when hubby comes next week, he wants to surprise me with it.

As for what we gave him.. my parents packed a whole box of stuff for each person in his family. Instead of sending Eidi just for him, they said that now we are one family so we should give gifts to everyone. So from his grandmother to parents to brothers, my parents sent stuff for all.

awwww too emotional - i’m crying rt now!:teary1:
