Actually! The pagans have left quite an impact on every culture and tradition (excluding religion).

guppies: I find cultural practices seeping into religious norms, which obviously ppl allow. Then there’s a whole confusion in the end of them being viewed as religious norms. Look how much traditions of hindu culture we follow back in Pakistan. Its same with every culture. Religion in any form itself is a divine, pure concept of an idealogy to begin with. How ppl take that and interpret it is a whole different can of worms. There’s alot of religious confusion all mixed up with political agendas, or whatever the motive of a certain person maybe (ref’ esp to political leaders and endless list of molvies and etc etc). The way I look at it. We’re all on our own. Fending individually. I don’t believe in judging someone..um…well..kinda…chupkay chupkay in my heart i may… (though I may discriminate on site) but at the end of the day, I go to sleep being thankful, that Alhumdulilah there’s Allah SWT, whom I can peacefully leave everything/everyone to and He the most subhan, shall see to it who gets what and not. No one surpases another, except their virtue. And mortals **can’t **judge or measure another’s virtue, only Allah can! So those of you jumping up and down saying, “falan is better than falan…” I’d say, rest those horses, and take a back seat. Cuz u don’t know what is in the heart of Allah for that person! So who are we? Did He the most almighty, exalted gave us any special tidings that “han bhai akhirath anay say pehlay na u do me a favour and make my job easy by pre-categorizing all the individuals for me with a kala ya noorani mark on their face, so I can easily send them right, left to hell/heaven!”
We are so impatient, and judge for Allah before the actual time of prescribed judgement day, when it wasn’t Him who asked us in the first place. hie na…

Hmmmm… I agree! Once I saw this desi chachi at work, all dupata lapayting on sar and what not. I got happy and greeted her with a warm hearted salam. She gave me such dirty looks. my dil getting all totified with her killer looks. I was like: Hai, hai chachiyay, salam kiya koi gali tuo nahi dee. Khair. Dekhtay dektay uncle got pohunchified, and with wada sa pag (turban) on head. Tuo I was like:smack: Ike tuo salam kia, upar say para bhi jakay ike hindu par*!

I remember back in 9/11 qareeb era, lots of sikhs getting beaten up for their turbans since the teens here didn’t knew any better how to distinguish between them and us

So then, how about we sub the stockings with um… captain lota’s: LOtays??

Islam in it’s current form wasn’t the first Islam, Allah revealed Islam to lots of Prophets and Messengers before Muhammad :saw: but those Islams were only meant for the respective nation of the particular Prophet who was sent with it, each nation was sent their own Prophet. A bit like windows operating systems, 95, 98, 2000, XP.

Abraham had two sons, the eldest Ishmael was the father and also the Prophet of the Arabs and his younger brother Isaac was the father and Prophet of the Israelis. The original pre-Muhammed :saw: Arabs were Muslims, they were monotheists and believed in the God of their forefathers Abraham and Ishmael but later they became Polythiests, when they would visit far off lands and see the ways of the Pagans and others they started adopting their ways, small things lead to big ones untill they started bringing back home idols from abroad and putting them in the Sacred Temple of God (Ka’abah) which was built by Abraham and Ishmael for the worship of Allah/Jehovah/God and none other, they invented from themselves and said such and such an idol is God’s daughter and such a one his son, they kept God as their primary deity but the idols they imported and made were also venetrated and they said these are our intercessprs with God, we’ll pray to these and they will request on our behalf (a bit like how the Christians have invented the Trinity or how certain heretic breakoff’s of Islam say their Imams are incarnations of God or Saint worship). Despite adopting polytheism and becoming Pagan and far from the religion of their forefathers they kept somethings from the religion of their forefathers such as still revering the Holy Ka’abah as a sacred site and making pilgrimage to it, keeping God as the main deity and some of the rituals and traditions such as circumblating around the Ka’abah.

Getting to the point, there are similarities because the original religion of their forefathers was from the same God as ours, not because we copied them, and the differences are either because of the things they invented (e.g. polytheism) or because God intended certain details to be different (e.g. the number of prayers or the pattern in which the congregation stand).

The people who died in the towers were nothing more than casualties of war, very similar to the innocents of Iraq and Afghanistan who got killed.

If we waste time on all these decorations, then who will put mehandi ? who will buy choorian, clothes, shoes etc ? and who will go to buy bakra and cow? and who will slaughter, distribute and get eidy then ?

They have nothing real, so they need something to enjoy and be religious once in a year, we have every thing and real and don't need anything fancy :-)

sigh Here's my two cents worth on idiots like Bin Ladin. The dude and similar kinds should be beheaded with the laws and norm of shariah. On his unworthy behalf, truck loads of ppl died in Afghanistan, and Iraq and so much more. Laghta hie folks, Yay bin ladin bhi na, is the new 'scape goat' of Amerika. Hai, Hai, mehendi is my favourite pesha of the eid…aray baba on top of that we need an Eid tree too. Aur time kis kay pas nahi hota when its eid. There’s lots of time masha Allah! Anyway… Be it an Olive tree or a keekar ka drakth, or a cactus, or a Palm tree. I’m all for plants!

So you are trying to justify killing innocent people? Have you ever read the Quran with english translation? Have you ever read Islamic history?(Not the kind they teach at madrassas) The REAL Islamic history which teaches not to kill innocent people, it teaches peace, it teaches the PROPER way to fight a war. Blowing up innocent people and then running and hidding in your rat-hole definately aren’t teachings of Islam. Watching America bomb his innocent people definately isn’t the Islamic way. DB is right, if he was a man and a good muslim he would have handed himself over to CIA. The innocent people that died in iraq and Afghanistan are HIS fault first and then Americas.

Anyways for starters, read the Quran with english translation.
