eid prep- taking days off

each year we have threas from people who were unable to gettime off for eid because of the whole hulla gulla regarding eid dates and mon sightings.

Last year someone made a simple but excellent suggestion, take 2-3 days off, if you do it early enough u can try to not hve any critical meetigs around then, and even tell the boss that u will be out on of those 2-3 days but you will not know until its closer (or u can just take all the days off if you have the days available)

Just thought as we are getting close to ramadan to bring it up again and just tell ppl to prepare early.

to the guppie who came up with the suggestion, thank u, but i cant remember who u were and I cant find your original post. but thank you.

Re: eid prep- taking days off

Well I m saved for this year but I remember , last year , I was working on both Eids .

Now it is better to take 2 to 3 days off as we have started having multiple Eids in UK and Europe.

I was mocked by some one last time , he asked : R ya celebrating your xmas today or tomorrow .

Inkay samnay bee zalil karwaa kay rakh dia hai :(

Re: eid prep- taking days off

oct 11 and 12 take off by taking 2 personal days off.
13, 14 is weekend.

Eid-al-fitr can't be before or beyond this, in this year.
honestly, individual people should begin to sight the cresent themselves and not listen to or follow the multiple dates of arab, sunni, shia, middle east, pakistan or any other place's eid-fitr days.

Re: eid prep- taking days off

^^ so ya taking me some where nice for eid dinner dush :)

Re: eid prep- taking days off

That's a good idea - it can work in some areas of work.

I'll probably still be working on those days, though. For me, it ends up being more of a hassle to miss days than to not miss. You still have to do the same work, just cram it in on some other day.

Re: eid prep- taking days off

I will be a student, so totally will take some time off.

Re: eid prep- taking days off

Only hav class two days a week but will take two classes off , fortunately no exams or assignments are scheduled. I think its pretty sad when ppl voluntarily go to work/school on Eid, you'll never see christians/jews doing anything on Christmas, so why shouldn't we take days off

Re: eid prep- taking days off

Re: eid prep- taking days off

But they dont pay you well dush :) it better to live on dole rather to work for a desi employer .

And it was just a jest :) U know why we are just a backward nation ? we dont laugh on our mistakes and bad things . Every matter is a matter of pride and honor for us .

Where one should just nod and laugh , we start fighting and killing :)

Its a beautiful world out there dush . We should enjoy it some time !
