Psyah love is different for mom and Allah and his messenger. Love for messenger is more about loving the message and the role model he was and trying to learn to be a better person from him, like one is fond of a good teacher at school.

But if it’s choosing listening to naats vs getting up and going to work so I can pay my mom’s bills and take care of her, then as a firm sensible muslim I choose the latter. I see no evidence and in fact contrary evidence that Muhammad SAW wanted to be worshipped. Love as in respect and take him as a trusted guide and teacher, NOT worship!

Yeah I sort of agree … Listening to naats and not harbouring intense love for RasoolAllah (SAW), then those Naats are of no benefit. Going to work to pay mum’s bill is good no doubt … But RasoolAllah (SAW) has to be much more than a teacher or guide … He has to be our article of fascination … Our hero.

Our Hadith tells us to increase our love and praises for him, but never do they say curb them … Although we do not worship him … There is a big difference between that love and worship.
