The celebration of eid Milad un nabi began after three centuries of the passing away of the prophet (SAW). Saudi mufti azam believes this is biddat (and against shariah) and forbidden in Islam, what do you guys think?

Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
Any one who outright forbids Mawlid is a bidatti himself. The reason for this is that Islam has not given this person permission to forbid Mawlid. The Shariah supports Mawlid.
Mawlid is Fard, Wajib, Sunnah and Mustahab. There is no doubt about its permissibility
Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
I’m going to leave the fatwas to the muftis but I personally don’t celebrate it nor do I participate in any such celebrations. My reason being that it wasn’t done by Nabi (SAW) himself nor any of the sahaba (RA).
Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
Molana Ahmed Raza Barelvi himself believed that though death of prophet is confirmed on 12th of Rabiul Awwal, birth is not confirmed for that day. So I wonder what are people celebrating on 12th?
Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
I dont celebrate it either because innovations are bad, even if they are good, it’s made up, did the sahaba celebrate the bday?
Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
Celebrations have been ongoing all week, i know someone who is planning Mawlid in 3 Months time.
12th of Rabi al Awal is one of the days cited as the Birthdate of RasoolAllah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Ahlihi wa Sallam. It is perhaps the best known. As for Imam Ahmad Raza Khan has said or not said, and from whom this information can be reliably taken from, is not really important because Imam Ahmad Raza Khan is only a protector of the aqeedah of Ahlus Sunnah. The permissibility of Mawlid predates him
The permissibility of Mawlid is an issue between Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah and wahabis. This point needs to be known because just targetting Imam Ahmad Raza Khan or using the name Barelvi as a focal point of your anger is deception [taqiyyah]
No one is targeting Molana Ahmed Raxa Khan. I am just referring to him as he is a well respected scholar in indo pak. Also he was from Bareli, hance called Barelvi. It’s not a disrespect either
Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
What i infered is that the issue does not involve Him much, the issue is between …are you listening…
…Between Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah and the shades of wahabism

That reminds me of this pic I saw posted on an aalim’s FB page:

Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
Self claiming yourself Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah and referring to others who dont agree with you Wahabi, is not going to make you right and others wrong.
Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
RasoolAllah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Ahlihi wa Sallam would fast to commemorate His Blessed Birth Weekly or twice weekly
Remember to show Happiness at the Blessed Birth and Arrival of RasoolAllah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Ahlihi wa Sallam is fard
Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
It is from the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah that we inherited this blessed occasion.
The proof for this is that you guys had to break from tradition to deny Mawlid
There was no anti mawlid people in india prior to your salafification. Thats why you are up against Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah. In Sha Allah this is clear to you. Even your akabirs were celebrating mawlid because their Mosques and communities used to
Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
You are deviating the topic. Lets stick to my original claim that 12th is not his birthday. Once we establish that it is or it is not, then we can argue on what we should or should not do on that day.
Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
Well as long as you heard the above, it made sense to you and it sunk
Arguments on the day would not even disallow the celebration on that day even if you did proof because the date is actually not important. Lets you say 12th is prohibited. I’ll say OK, Other days are Ok
So are other days ok?
Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
I dont agree with you at all, bottom line it is a biddat, it’s a made up gathering. If people would like to read Quran they should BUT not treat it different to any other day. If the prophet pbuh and his sahaba did not celebrate what right do we have? You should read up on this properly before you make such a claim.
Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
Who told you they did not celebrate, who told you it is impermissible to celebrate?
Also i do not know who you are. Tell me about your self
What sect are you? The reason for asking is familiarity with each others usul and sources
Re: Eid milad un nabi is biddat - Saudi mufti
Where is the hadith for us being allowed to celebrate it? Give me that first.
I’m a Muslim and I only use Quran and hadith- i dont indulge in the sects business it is irrelevant
