lol!

Re: Eid Milad un Nabi Festivities

I don’t view thanksgiving in the same category, it is not based upon any religious doctrine. I don’t do anything to mark/celebrate christmas.

My Ammi used to organize a big ladies milaad every Eid Milad un Nabi, most of my naniyal will do a fatiha of some sort etc, but personally, my husband and I do not subscribe to these practices.

Re: Eid Milad un Nabi Festivities

it will definitely be a bid’a if we log in here thinking it’s part of deen and expect a reward from Allah dfor doing this and a punishment from Him if we do NOT! [that’s the definition of bid’a]…

— i don’t think i log in here as a religious ritual and expect a reward from Almighty Allah!

Re: Eid Milad un Nabi Festivities

Not even in the religious forum?

Re: Eid Milad un Nabi Festivities

nope!

Re: Eid Milad un Nabi Festivities

People don’t necessarily do Milad as their religious obligation in the sense they don’t necessarily do it for sawab, nor they think they will get punished if they do not celebrate Milaad.

They just do it for their way of showing love or aqeedat. It is their way of getting connected to religion.

No problem if it is done in respectful manner and not to show off or with extravagant meals etc.

Yeah. We read atleast one prayer together as a family, depending on when each is home.
then some of us will recite a few surahs from the Quran or tasbee. Worship stuff y’know.

Re: Eid Milad un Nabi Festivities

no. bidaa. innovations.

Re: Eid Milad un Nabi Festivities

I don’t celebrate it personally, but I find people around me who celebrate it with full of love of the Prophet (SAW). My Ammi does celebrate it, distribute sweets and other stuff to children and yes when she does say MithRo Muhammad in her Sindhi, it sounds that she loves the Prophet more than anyone in the world.

While reading Surah e Rehman in morning today and reciting ayah ’ fabi ayyi ala i rabbikuma tukazziban’, I thought that today is the day, when God blessed this earth with His biggest favor. So, those who celebrate it for thankfulness should not be shunned just by calling bid’ati.
