Eid-ul-Fitr in Greater Toronto Area on Friday November 4th

According to Ruhat-e-Hilal Commitee of Toronto that includes approx 70+ Islamic organizations in GTA, Eid-ul-Fitr will be on Friday November 4th Inshallah. Please use this following list to find out which masjid is celebrating eid on what day and where.

The following is the official statement on Hilal Commitee’s website (Hilal Committee – Metropolitan Toronto & Vicinity):

There have been no confirmed reports of hilal/ moon sighting anywhere in North America. The Hilal Committee of Toronto & Vicinity announces that the month of Ramadan will complete its cycle of 30 days and the 1st of Shawwal (Eid ul Fitr) will be on Friday corresponding November 04, 2005.

We wish a blessed Eid Mubarak to all, including the congregation of 71 Masjids and Islamic organizations who are part of the Hilal Committee of GTA, Canada.

Please note that according to Fiqh when the horizon is clear, then it is necessary for a multitude of people to give testimony for eye witnessing the new moon.

Therefore it is advisable that Eid-ul-Fitr in the GTA should be celebrated on Friday. For all those who celebrate on Thursday (according to whichever source you go by), Eid Mubarak to you. May Allah accept all our sincerest prayers. Ameen.
