I have never formally given any gift or eidee but I do make sure that she gets a couple of new dresses every eid.

Yes… giving gifts/ flowers/chocolates/candies increases love shuv. But plastic walay phool utha kay nahi deina kabhi bhee

My BIL sent his wife in Pakistan real flowers using a desi online service . They delivered very cheap plastic flowers , she makes fun of him about it frequently. She had saved them and brought them with her when she got her green card got approved .
It is a family joke now.

^I’m sure they were of colors such as neon yellow, puke green, ankhain bahir niqalnay wala pink etc

:D ooh presents! yes yes yes. eid gifts, bakra-eid gifts, ramadan mubarak gifts, long-weekend gifts ... i believe significant others should try and get in some sorta presents here and there through out the year! why, you ask? simple. every1 loves getting little surprises from time to time. and when it's a time like eid and you as a couple are totally in the 'giving eidi' mode to everyone else, you can catch your spouse off guard by bringing them something all special they totally didnt expect. :D
