^ indeed - had forgotten. Early morning take a bath dress up in best clothes have idling chutni breakfast with some kesari. Then sweets. Lighting of the lamps - how could I forget? That was very important.

Deepavali is what we also called it.

And yes - vinayaka something also instead of Ganesh chaturthi.

taking bath early in the morning, dress up in new clothes and having sweets before going for Eid prayers is also major part of Eid Festival
