How festivals of other communities celebrated where these two communities live together? Do people share their joys with others?
My dada’s house is connected with the house of a Hindu family. We had a common well (kunwan) and on occasions like Eid and Muharram we send that food (mithai and Nazr o Niyaz) and on Diwali they send us sweets. I remember, we children use to avoid eating sweets coming from their home, but when our dadi said ’ Kalma padh ke khalo’, we had that with pleasure

yeah v hv christains here but in uk sub ko apna apna hi hy
Means there is no concept of sharing in Western society. This reminds me college days.
In those days we used to have lunch near college.. Sometimes, a student paid bill for whole group and sometimes (in last days of month) there used to be a slogan 'Aaj American system hoga', means everyone had to pay for his food :D

strange it might sound but it's true that, in spite of living in India, i had very little interaction with Hindus because wherever i lived in India it was a basically purely Muslim Areas. we had a single Hindu Baniyaa family in my village where we used to buy groceries from and at Aligarh, where i studied, Muslims were/are in majority. i had hardly ever a Hindu close friend. just salaam du'aa hii bas hotii thii...in my class of 55 students, there were just 3 Hindus.
we never had any family relationships with any Hindu families back home.
