Re: Eid for Hindus, Diwali for Muslims
One of my dad’s associates is Hindu. He’s been working for us for the passed 6 years. For the past few years, Eid and Diwali have fallen on or around the same dates. Despite needing help, my dad is more than willing to accommodate to his needs, because he respects us and our religion.
Last Diwali, we gave him and his wife clothes, and sent sweets for the kids. And during Eid, they sent mithai and other traditional sweets to us.
Aside from worshipers of the Hindu faith, I’ve been raised to respect and acknowledge any faith that I am associated with my relation or acquaintance.
For example, at work, during Christian holidays, I partake in the festivities and exchange gifts with the staff.
Living abroad, we have to make our selves comfortable by making those around us comfortable with us.
