I use aap /tu depending on mood.
Even though i heard ppl say one should use "tu" but jiss zamane mai islam utra tha usme kaunsi urdu thee ke one should use tum ya tu ya aap...
arabic mai they dont have tum/tu/aap.

Lets not restrict the concept of God to just Islam. Obviously before Islam, God was there and people used to call Him.
I think Tu / Aap somehow reflect how comfortable are you with Him :D

IMO 'aap' shows more respect/ fear then love, whereas 'Tu' shows more comfort / closeness :)
Sometimes, when people complaint to God, they usually address Him as 'Tu'

They use his names....as far as i know.
Ya rub , ya Allah , Ya raheem , ya kareem etc etc and then the dua....and Allahumma too....

mostly i say Allah Jee.. Allah Pak.. n mostly use App.. but if by mistake i say tum/tu i onsuider it as i misbehave with Allah Pak.. n take it as Gunah.. i foran ask for maafi.. :)… u knw mostly ppl use tu fr Allah Jee.. but whn thy use same fr thier elder thy say.. badtameezi ker rahy ho.. maa baap ny tameez nhi sikhayi.. and Allah Jee k liye wohi log tu/tum use krty hain

Muqa bhai., u just sed Allah Miyan.. n i rem once i was watching madni channel.. n thy sed da v shudnt Call Allah Pak as Allah Miyan.. cuz "miyan" wrd hv dfrnt meanings.. like v call husband as miyan. n many many.. damn i frgt em.. but yeah thy sed v shudnt say ALLAH miyan..

Allah MiyaaN and when addressing Him...we usually say 'TU' kiuN k Urdu zabaan meN aksar lafz-e-'TU' kaa iste'maal bahot qareebii shaKhs ke liye bhii jaataa hai jab k 'AAP' kahne meN ek duurii aur gap kaa aHsaas hotaa hai.

but isy zyada tar bad tameezi kaha jata hy.. ager hum kahain bhai tu ye kary ga.. agey sy wo aik lga k boly ga k sharam karo baron ki izzat karna nahi ati.. aur jahan Allah Pak ka ma'mla ata hai.. hum isy bht lightly lety hain.. aur dil ko tasali deny k liye hazaar daleelain nikal laty hain

insaanoN kaa mo'aamila ho yaa jo qareeb na ho use tu kahnaa yaqeenan bad-tameezii hai magar Allah ke liye "TU' kahnaa bahot 'aam hai...saarii Urdu du'aaoN meN TU kaa lafz hii miltaa hai...AAP kaa lafz kahiiN nahiiN miltaa!" Allah ke liye maKhsoos hai TU izzat. moHabbat aur qurbat ke liye! :)

...koii Urdu kii du'aaoN kii kitaab uThaa kar dekh leN, sab meN lafz-e-taakhaatub 'TU' hii milegaa! :)

I call him Rabbji or Babaji as guru and god are inseparable in Sikhi
My otherfamily members call Bhagwan Shiv as ParamPita.

I was going to ask this. I always heard Sikhs saying Wahe guru ji, Baba Nanak. Isn't there separate concept of God? How Baba Nanak defined God?

Even in dua after Azaan in most of TV Channels say ' Tu apne waday ke khilaaf nahin karta'.
