I just went out to this place with my friends called ‘Aishas House’ where this aunty cooks home cooked food and its so delicious. Its a proper restaurant lots of white and non pakistani people go there too.
I started eating daal chawal and chicken and achaar and pyyaaz with my hand because it makes the food taste better and I am a paindu 
All my friends were embarrassed of me

No more than if you ate Chinese food with chopsticks: it is the appropriate way to eat desi food.

Some actions need privacy. It is one of them. Like desi people do not like public display of affection with their own wives.

If anyone does not like the way I ate then I feel sorry for them… becuase I never eat alone… and secondly my companions eat the same way I do so tough.

I won’t embarrassed, since I believe every one has rigt to enjoy his or hr food in their way. Main namaz itni gum hu ke nahi perhti jitnagum hu e khi hon:D so mujhy pata nahi chalta ke doey ki kiy aherkat hain even some people bother hoey hain chap chap ki awz se tu main oseybhi dabanyky haq main nahi jab woh apna display of affection (main ny Urdu likh di thi is ki phir khiyal aiya Udu per GS Public

try it.. you dont have to feel the stainless steel chamach going inside your mouth or the small plastic one rubbing against your lips..
my mom finds it irritating when i eat chawal without a spoon

As long as the daal ando other curries are not sprayed liberally onto neighbors, this is a non-issue.

I don't think its considered a neat way of eating; its taken as being zero in eating etiquette no matter how convenient it may seem.
