If we wash our hands well before and after eating, where is the lack of neatness? Of course, being born in theh sub-continent, this is not an issue for me. Looks like most folks here are born in the west - so I can understand why some are squeamish about use of hands while eating

eating daal chawal with hands, perhaps i wont go that far. however, i dont see any thing wrong in using hands and do it very often :)

Just did it last night in one of the restaurants at Hilton hotel. I was alone but a couple of people on nearby tables stared at me, but who cares :)
