Re: Eating halal food
The whole concept of forbidding eating kentucky Fried Chicken and MCDonalds has been promoted by a group of scholars based on this verse from Sura Al Anaam.

But (even so), if a person is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- thy Lord is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. *

You're free to eat kfc and mac mirch sahib. And no the prohibition of eating meat sold by western non-muslims is not promoted by a group but it is the opinion of most muslim scholars.
People who promoted the idea of kfc etc being halal is by few modern scholars like Yusuf Qardawi, Shaykh Qardawi is a great scholar no doubt but for his view regarding kfc etc being halal he has recieved big criticism from the Scholars all over the West.
Also, those scholars don't present their argument only because of above mentioned ayah, they take refernces from Taurah as well to prove the correct method of slaughtering for jews that's similar to the islamic method of zabiha.
This verse is specifically forbidding eating sacrificial animal dedicated to some non Allah diety. The word used in Quran is Ohilla , which according to many many Arabic dictionaries is used for sacrificing an animal in somebody's name. The animals which are slaughtered for daily consumption do not come under the category of Ohilla.
Quran has not specified for Muslims a method of slaughtering of animal. But Quran has allowed as per verse 5 of Sura Mida all foods of people of faith . Of course there is an exception as per this verse which is Khanzeer and Blood etc. Other than that the meat of Halal animal ,which they slaughter for consumptions is halal for us to eat.
If according to that ayah all kind of food of christian and jews is allowed for us then pig and alocohol is also allowed....oh wait...but pig and wine is declared haram in some other ayah and so is the food that's not been slaughtered without mentioning Allah's name. No?
As for ahadees which specify how to slaughter the animals even for daily consumption , they apply to Muslims not to People of Book. But their shariat has been canceled , yes. But Quran still recognizes them as people of faith and book, so will I . Their halal meat slaughter is halal, yes it is as per sura maida verse 5. But they do not say name of Allah while slaughtering ? There is no such specification for them say the name of Allah while slaughtering for animal. We can still eat it by saying bismillah.
Do you know that the method of zabiha has been mentioned in Taurah?
Now prove that KFC and Mac meat slaughterers are practising Jews who follow the zabiha method? If you can then sure it's fine to eat from kfc and mac.
It is last post by me on this subject everybody else is beating around the bush. They are using the tactics of Ulema a Jews who used to say the book is only for the understanding of ulema everybody else is Jahil and cannot comprehend what is in Torah , so my Muslim friends are saying the same thing. Telling me that I am Jahil and do not understand Quran . They are also assuming that I am basing it all on just translation of Quran . I am not. I have done my research.
No one is calling you jahil, and no one is calling himself an alim here, we all need to gain knowledge about islamic rulings.

If you've noticed, I didn't give any reference of a scholar so far, I was only arguing with logic.
