i will tell you one of my secret aloo ki recipe :devil:

well take some oil and put the jeera and rai and green chillies after some time (woh tum decide karna kitna time) add 1 tomato which you will have to chop fine (with care, don’t cut your fingers :smack: ) add turmeric powder and salt

when it becomes paste like, add small cubes of potatoes and keep stirring otherwise potatoes chipak jayege karahi mein :eek:

keep it there for 10 mins or so and then you can taste the potatoe and see if it is cooked…exact timings nahi pata mujhe…

eat it with paratha or rottis or naan :smiley:

** Fish, Pakistani style **

  • Serves 2

Degree of difficulty: Medium

Preparation Time: 25 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

** INGREDIENTS **

750g white fish fillets
2 teaspoons crushed garlic
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon chilli powder (optional)
Olive oil for shallow frying
Lemon juice
Lemon wedges to garnish

** METHOD **

Pat the fish down with paper towelling to remove excessive moisture.

In a bowl, combine the garlic, salt, ginger, turmeric, pepper and chilli with enough lemon juice to make a paste. Rub this mix over both sides of the fish and leave for at least 20 minutes.

In a large frying pan, heat just enough oil to cover the base of the pan and fry the fish steaks on medium, until cooked on one side, then turn and cook on the other side until done to your liking.

Garnish with lemon wedges.

** Baingan **

Serves: 4-6 persons
Prep Time: 20 minutes

** INGREDIENTS **

6-8 small brinjals (cut in round thin slices)
2 cups yoghurt
Chopped green chillies for garnishing.
1 teaspoon zeera powder
A pinch of red chilli powder
Salt to taste.
Oil for frying
Whole Zeera
Some brown onion for garnishing.

** METHOD **

Fry the brinjal slices till lightly browned.
Remove from oil and keep aside.

Whip yoghurt, add zeera powder, red chilli powder and salt.
Now add the fried brinjals.

In a small pan heat 1 table spoon oil, add zeera. Fry till it crackles.
Then pour it over the yoghurt and brinjal mix.

Sprinkle green chillies and brown onion.

Serve and Enjoy!!! *

** Stir fry Bean-Sprouts with Noddles **

Serves: 4
Prep Time: 20minutes

** INGREDIENTS **

250g fresh bean-sprout
2to3 spring onions(scallions)
2to 3 carrotes (cut in match sticks form)
1 medium red chilly pepper(optional)
3 tbs oil
2 packets noddles
1/2tsp salt
1/2tsp sugar
1tsp of butter
1tbs light soy sauce
few drops of sesame oil(optional)

** METHOD **

1)Rinse bean-sprouts in cold water,drain well on on papper towels.

2) Cut spring onions (scallions) in short sections.thinly shred red peppper,if using,discarding the seeds.

3)Boil noddles in hot wter as directed on packet and drain
the water from noddles when they prepared.add 1 tsp of
butter in noddles.

4)Heat the oil in preheated wok.add bean-sprouts,spring onions,
carrots and chilly pepper,if using.and stir fry for 2 minutes.and
add salt,sugar ,soy sauce and sesame oil,if using to the mixture in wok.stir well to blend.

5)Add all ingredients in nodddles and serve immidiately hot. *

*Rustic Cheese and Tomato Pizza with Pancetta *

Preparation time = less than 30 mins
Cooking time = 10 to 30 mins
Serves 2

** INGREDIENTS **

For the dough:

200g/7oz plain flour
2 garlic cloves, crushed
salt
freshly ground black pepper
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp fresh basil and chives

For the topping:

1 beef tomato, sliced
2 tbsp caster sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
110g/4oz mature cheddar, grated
4 slices of pancetta
For the salad
½ red onion, finely sliced
55g/2oz spinach
salt
freshly ground black pepper
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

** METHOD **

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 220C/425F/Gas 7.
  2. To make the dough, place the flour, garlic, salt and pepper, olive oil and herbs into a food processor.
  3. Blend together, adding enough cold water to form a stiff dough.
  4. Remove from the processor and roll out on a floured surface to a rectangle shape.
  5. Place on a baking sheet. Layer the tomato slices on top of the dough and sprinkle with the sugar and salt. Drizzle over the olive oil and place in the oven.
  6. Cook for 5-6 minutes then remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle with the grated cheese. Return to the oven and bake for a further 8-10 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, heat a small frying pan and fry the pancetta slices for 4-5 minutes, until crisp.
  8. Place the onion, spinach, seasoning, olive oil and balsamic vinegar into a bowl and toss together.
  9. Remove the pizza from the oven and place the salad on top.
  10. Remove the pancetta from the heat and serve on top of the pizza. *

*Choux Pasty Straws with Chocolate Sauce *

Cooking time = less than 10 mins
Preparation time = less than 30 mins

Serves 3-4

** INGREDIENTS **

For the chocolate sauce:

150ml/5fl oz water
55g/2oz butter
85g/3oz flour
salt
2 eggs

For the choux pastry:

85g/3oz cocoa
85g/3oz caster sugar
½ pt water
2 tbsp olive oil

** METHOD **

  1. Place the water and butter in a pan and heat gently until melted
    then bring to the boil. Remove from the heat, add the flour and
    salt and beat quickly to form a smooth paste.

  2. Cool slightly then gradually beat in the eggs to give a smooth
    glossy mixture.

  3. Pipe into straws on a greased baking sheet and bake in the
    oven for 8-10 minutes or until crisp and golden.

  4. Meanwhile to make the chocolate sauce, place the cocoa, sugar, water and olive oil into a medium pan over a gently heat.
    Simmer for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally to form a chocolate
    sauce.

  5. Remove the straws from the oven and serve dipped in the
    chocolate sauce. *

LUC thanx :hug:…but i need some easy 10 mins recpies like Daagh told me one …yeh to pora din laga gaha ..n 5 min ke kahan kahnay ko muj se 3 hours mien nahi pakaya jata :snooty:
n pizza no way i dont want to even think abt it :(…
Remember its begning :halo:… + im not into heavy/ desi food …i prefer jo bhi easy san ban jaey in few mins :p…

at home my mam often makes Baingan and infact i had them on saturday.

my brothers has a chinese friend a international student from beijing who goes to the same university as us, he cooked stir fry bean-sprouts with noddles for us and the taste was awesome so we took the recipe of him and tried making them @ home.

the taazi machi we also have ocassionally…
