Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
Thank God the wedding is OVER! The family make me cringe!!
Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
something about the bride seems kind of off but i cant quite put my finger on it
Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
I loved it when she checked out her own boobs when they were throwing confetti over them as they walked out of the hall.
I love 'enders!
I also loved the whole Tambo and Afia thing. She was amazingly funny!
Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
lol at the fact that the desi groom isn't even desi!
Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
i think she looked nice on the mehndi ( a bit over done but nice)
didnt think she looked all that in the red!!!
Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
omg! her boobs were dying to escape her shirt! what is it with that? Muslim brides never have cleavage and our grooms aren't gay.
I really did like what Zainab was wearing and that other gori, Manda... Minty's girlfriend.
Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
Did anyone else get annoyed with the Nikkah? Since when does the imam ask for the groom's consent 3 times?
Also, who has a horse and carriage in the middle of winter?
Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
Well tigerlily, if they were really copying London, it should have been snowing profusely.
Eastenders is filmed 6 - 8 weeks in advance so they probably did all that when the weather was slightly more accomodating.
Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
What's with the bindis and Indian outfits at a "Pakistani" wedding. And since when do Pakistani baraats dance down the street like Bollywood Punjabis?
Honestly, the "Muslim" weddings in Bollywood films look more like Pakistani weddings than this. With all the Pakistanis in the UK, you'd think they'd have managed to do something a little better than this.
Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
Lol... basically it was the Christmas/New Years day episodes which are a big deal in this country. I think it was quite a big risk for them to have the focus of the episodes on an Asian family. So to keep all the non-Asians interested and going 'oh wow, look what those Asians do at weddings', they made it as tacky and overdone as possible.
Most of the time I really think that the scriptwriters are coconuts when it comes to writing the muslim family.
Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
Amira looked better on the mendhi then on the actual wedding...& I prefered her outfit it's quite nice...
But the episode was really cringy at times :s esp. when Syed was giving his little speech to christian:"Im a brother, Im a Son, Im a friend, Im a Muslim" ...wth lol
i think she looked nice on the mehndi ( a bit over done but nice)
didnt think she looked all that in the red!!!
Agree! she looked waaay better on the mehndi! on the wedding day her duppata wasnt set properly neither was the jewellery on her forehead...not evryone can carry off a matha-patti!
Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
This is Eastenders writers having a bollywood fest. Nothing is really Pakistani about it.
It was hilarious, the imam couldn't recite arabic at all, they were mostly conducting the ceremony in English except for the "Qabool hai" part. After that came "Mubarak hai", lol!
Oh, and of COURSE the groom HAD to go to the wedding on a horse, and of course they had to have dancing street drummer parade for both the mendi and wedding.
Oh, what drama!
Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
who has else had to explain to non-desi's that "No, we don't do that at our weddings." "Or that." "Pakistani clothes are much nicer than that!"
Re: EastEnders Pakistani Wedding Photos
i loved her lenghaaaaa although the top needs to be adjusted lolz
