E-books Vs Printed ones

I never tried Ebooks, but read stuff off the internet. Nothing comes close to holding an actual book in your hand and reading it.

I like to ask guppies if they have experience with Ebooks. Do you recommend them or not.

Do they have urdu titles available in Ebook format?

Re: E-books Vs Printed ones

I am not a big fan of ebooks. I guess I tend to surf the internet instead of paying attention to them, can't focus on a screen for too long. i guess I am old fashioned , but I prefer a hard copy of a book.

Re: E-books Vs Printed ones

When you say urdu titles for E books what sort of titles are you after?? I know of Novels online that I sometimes read when I need to fall asleep

Re: E-books Vs Printed ones

Re: E-books Vs Printed ones

Have you ever tried any Ebook ASK? I read some good reviews about Amazon’s Kindle Amazon.com: Kindle: Amazon’s Wireless Reading Device: Kindle Store

Re: E-books Vs Printed ones

I've never tried e-books.I prefer regular books.they are easier on the eyes.

I guess any PDF file can be downloaded to an Ebook for that matter and yes many urdu novels are availaible in PDF or scanned JPG format online.

Those must be pretty boring novels that make you fall sleep :hehe:

Shining, new ebook readers use different kind of back light that is easy on eyes (or so I heard)

do you think that for a book junkie, its easy to carry an ebook reader with 20 books loaded than have 20 printed titles?

No its just lack of sleep, I love reading.

But lately i havent been able to read anything, The Hobbit and A Suitable Boy and Dexter are sitting on my table with book marks :frowning:

Re: E-books Vs Printed ones

since we are on urdu e-books ...
ne 1 have Naseem Hijazi's Khaak aur Khoon ?

Re: E-books Vs Printed ones

E-books? well I observe the people who develop the habits of reading E-books cannot manage to read the printed ones. Though books are books so it is always worthy to read them no matter on net or in printed forms BUT then you will lose your eyesight if you continue the habit of reading E-books.

Re: E-books Vs Printed ones

Dont know much about the books that you mentioned adra.., but I can relate. When I hit my pillow, I fall asleep with in 30 minutes max. I like to read but my daughters use that time to jump on me and Marya wants me to tell her stories and Sara just like to pretend that she is interested in my talk (she got that form her mother I guess:D) so sometimes I literally read 2 pages before I am gone :D

Re: E-books Vs Printed ones

If youve read LOTR then The Hobbit is about the early life of Bilbo Baggins.

A Suitable Boy ( love this book ) is based right after the partition of India and Pakistan. Its the story of a mother looking for a suitable match for her daughter.
But I say thats just an excuse to write the book. It contains so much culture that you just get transformed to the sights and smells in the book. Must read.

Dexter is like the one on TV, slightly different but equally guresome

:rotfl:

sorry Niksik :frowning:

Re: E-books Vs Printed ones

A book made from paper and print is what I'd prefer any day.

Or is it the other way around :emmy:

Try Kitaabghar.com
