my point is that if you wear a bra(which most of us using GS hopefully do), then for me a shirt/top is sufficient to cover the bosom, so i don’t feel the need to put on a dupatta. but if you don’t have access to a bra (rural women etc), then dupatta/ chaadar is a MUST!!! so we really can’t generalize anything.
