dupatta-free trend

With the current fashion of ‘tops’ and ‘kurtis’ worn with churidars/tights/capris/cigarette pants , bechara dupatta is vanishing from the scene Actresses in pakistani tv dramas, news reporters, moms picking and dropping kids to schools, women in shopping malls and markets - You can witness this ‘trendy’ look (atleast in Islamabad and Lahore)

So, are you following this/approve of this ‘fashion’ or do you think it is not ‘ok’ to omit it ?

(mods: can we have a poll?)

I wear a hijab so I'm OK with this, I dress without dupatta anyways when wearing western outfits.

But the regular shalwar kameez feels bare without dupatta

Re: dupatta-free trend

:nook:Media should stop copying the west and :barbie:people should stop copying the media. Duppatta gives 70% grace in female dressings and females look very nice wearing it:biggthumb:.

Re: dupatta-free trend

I was talking about omitting it while wearing regular desi suits

Re: dupatta-free trend

If I'm wearing shalwar kameez, then I will feel uncomfortable without duppata.

Re: dupatta-free trend

I think it depends on the outfit. If your kameez is very flowy and doesn't define the bust area then i don't have a problem with women not wearing it. There's no point in wearing tight kameez and then having dupatta around your neck, defeats the purpose

Re: dupatta-free trend

not following!

Re: dupatta-free trend

I love dupattas! longer the better! .... i'd never give that up with shalwaar kameez.

Re: dupatta-free trend

i cant live without dupatta!!!
n that too should not be see-through...
coz imo there is no point of wearing net ka dupatta:D

Re: dupatta-free trend

I Can't imagine wearing a Shalwar Kameez without dupatta.Actually the whole beauty of shalwar Kamiz is with dupatta. ^_^

Re: dupatta-free trend

Not a trend that I'm following, feel like somethings missing from salwar kameez

Re: dupatta-free trend

net dupattas are non-functional  I remember a classfellow who was famous for wearing net ka dupatta ‘khol kay’ and chiffon/lawn ka dupatta ‘crushed’ :smack: non-functional dupattas in either cases

Re: dupatta-free trend

^lol oh yes and what about wearing crushed dupatta on your gala or on one side:D

Re: dupatta-free trend

I will not be adopting this trend, our suits seem bare without a duppatta. whatever next?? we will be going without shalwars/trs soon!!!

Re: dupatta-free trend

proto in action:biggthumb:

Meri family mein duppetta ghaib ho giya hai just 2/3ladian hain jo duppetta laiti hain

Ore without duppetta dekh ker mujhe sharam aati hain k “kiya ho giya inn ladkian ko ?”

Mere dil ko sakoon milta hai duppetta ley ker parda ker k

Re: dupatta-free trend

Is not dupatta-free dresses quit old now! You can see them very often in elite class weddings.I think designer wear shalwar kameez are frequently dupatta less.

Re: dupatta-free trend

can we have some pic samples without dupatta.

Re: dupatta-free trend

I dont like this trend. Looks good on Tv but face to face.. looks incomplete.

Re: dupatta-free trend

at my work place girls come in dupatta and then put it on their chairs and roam around without it. Aisa lagta hai kitchen main dupatta utaar kay kaam kar raheen hai :smack:

I am totally against this trend…this dupatta is there for a reason !!!

Re: dupatta-free trend

koi drama uthaa kay dekh lo ajkal .. for example shehr-e-zaat.. na amma ko koi hosh hai dupattay ki na beti ko :smack:

elite class weddings = yes, but you can see this ‘fashion’ on streets now !
