This is a great article, there are many others like it, having grown up in Abu-Dhabi and Dubai, I have seen the ugly things reported in this article, it makes me sick. It’s a long article, but y’all should read it, it’s appalling.
i Knew a bit of it as i've been there three times but to read it in all the details
You simply compare A DESI WITH DESI PASSPORT needs a visa to enter UAE and other GCC countries but the SAME DESI WITH A WESTERN PASSPORT is allowed to enter visa free
Just compare the the treatment of Desi's vs. Westeners in Jails
This an attempt by this Indian journalist (Jogan Hari) to defame a muslim country. As far as I know Arabs in Dubai are very friendly towards their muslim brothers and like Pakistanis for their love for Islam. The Bangladesi guy in the article is Hindu(Sahinal) and that's why he got treated like that. The article states 975 Indians died and Arabs have no mercy for but-parasts(idol-worshipers)- Alhamdullilah. Pakistanis are well-off in Dubai and many are citizens or green-card holders. Islam is the way of life there and although they don't have nizam-e-mustafa(saw), they are followers of Islam.

Yeah there are some of distant family members I spoke with and they spoke highly of the Arabs- they are simple and nice people like Pakistanis. They might be rich but are welcoming of other muslims.
I feel that the article is true to some extent regarding the labor conditions. They really are in a bad shape... However, the author is quite biased in making sure evryone he talks to speaks against Dubai. Every society has its problems and so does Dubai... Some of the article's contents are exaggerated to show a very bad picture.
There are bad labor conditions for Mexicans who come and work in US fields and farms... They may not be as bad but yes comparing to the national standard they are bad..
The beach may be dirty due to negligence as stated in the article but thats not the case for whole UAE. A shaikh who can spend billions on buildings cannot buy a new sewage plant?
Some of the stuff is plain BS!
I heard this from an Indian.. who had lived in Dubai for 15 years and he said that Emiratis and Arabs from GCC were usually more sympathetic to Pakistanis as compared to them.
