Drunk Doc!

“Get the f*** in the car you piece of f****** disgusting s***.”
Those were the words spoken by the woman in the video above, identified by Miami Local 10 as Dr. Anjali Ramkissoon, a neurology resident at Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
The video, posted Tuesday by Youtube user JuanCinco, shows Ramkissoon attempt to get in an Uber vehicle, then proceed to throw everything out of the driver’s car. This is JuanCinco’s first and only YouTube post.
Ramkissoon, 30, is a fourth-year resident employed by Jackson Health System, and has been placed on administrative leave, effective immediately. The driver in the video hasn’t been identified.
University of Miami Medicine released a statement on their Facebook and Twitter regarding Ramkisoon’s status:

***Dr. Anjali Ramkissoon is not a University of Miami faculty, physician or student. Please see the statement below from Jackson Health System.
******“Anjali Ramkissoon, a fourth-year neurology resident employed by Jackson Health System, has been placed on administrative leave, effective immediately, and removed from all clinical duties. Jackson has launched an internal investigation. The outcome of the investigation will determine if any disciplinary action will be taken, up to and including termination.”

***The incident happened Sunday night in Miami.
The video was uploaded on January 19 but didn’t pick up steam until Thursday. In the video description, JuanCinco gives a detailed description of what happened:We were on the phone with this uber driver while he pulled up to our location. Out of nowhere the girl in the video gets in the backseat of his car and won’t get out. We told the driver it was ok, to just cancel our ride, but he did not want to take her anywhere so he kept telling her to get out.
Eventually the driver gets out and says he’s calling the cops to get her out of the car. After a couple of minutes of the driver pretending to talk to the cops (im assuming he was pretending because they never showed up at first), the girl decides to reach into the front seat, grab his keys, and start walking away with his keys in her hands…. That’s where the video starts…

Miami Police responded to the incident, but did not arrest Ramkissoon because the driver didn’t want to press charges and she gave him money as an apology.
Although no charges have been filed, Ramkissoon has faced the wrath of the Internet. Her Instagram, Facebook and other social media pages have been taken down. Someone even edited a picture of her to make it appear she was topless.

Police said they did not take a report on the incident. “There is no incident report by us. She wasn’t arrested so she’s not in the system,” Detective Frederica Burden told the Miami New Times. “The police responded to the location but it was a disturbance call. No report is generated for a disturbance call.”
Ramkissoon has not commented publicly since the video went viral.

The Uber driver appears to have control of Ramkissoon early in the video, holding her wrists in an attempt to restrain her. She attempts to free herself by kneeing the driver in the groin, resulting in the driver shoving Ramkissoon to the ground and making a break for his car.
When he gets to his car, Ramkissoon gets in on the passenger side and begins to berate the driver. The driver immediately exits, so Ramkissoon starts yelling “get in the f****ing car” and throwing his belongings outside the vehicle.

Ramkissoon proceeds to fill the street with papers and items from the driver’s car — including throwing a pair of scissors and smashing his phone.
According to JuanCinco, Ramkissoon became remorseful after police arrived. “It was only when they put her in the police car that she started crying, apologizing, and claiming that she would lose her medical license (she claimed to be a neurologist) if she got arrested,” JuanCinco includes in the description.

Uber said in a statement that it has suspended her account.
“Uber expects everyone associated with the platform – both drivers and riders – to conduct themselves with a shared level of respect and common courtesy, and all forms of harassment and abuse are not tolerated. We have suspended the rider account of this individual as we investigate the incident,” Uber said.
According to voter records, Ramkissoon is 30 years old and living in the Miami area as recently as November. She lives with family, and graduated from North Miami Beach High School.
Her sister, 28-year old Kavita Ramkissoon, attended law school at Nova Southeastern University and passed the Florida bar exam in 2013. She now works for the firm Kanner & Pintaluga as an associate attorney, specializing in accidents and injuries.

According to her mom’s Facebook, Patricia Ramkissoon worked as a secretary a the University of Miami School of Medicine from 1983 to 1988. She also took classes at Barry University, where Kavita graduated with a BS in Criminology.

Ramkissoon’s boyfriend is also a doctor who studied at the University of Miami.
Neighbor Ruby Ferro told CBS4 about Ramkissoon, “I just got surprised because they’re a beautiful family,” said Ferro. “Anjali and her sister, they’re good girls. They’re quiet people. They never have a problem. You could be a beautiful person but one day you have a problem, the job or the family or the boyfriend and you change that day. But that doesn’t mean you’re a bad person.”

Ramkissoon is in the fourth year of University of Miami’s neurology residency program. She works at the main teaching hospital of the university’s medical school, Jackson Memorial. A search for her name turns up a post from the the Epilepsy Center at University of Miami Hospital citing its excellent levels of patient care, but the post has been removed. A cache of the page reveals a 2014 press release citing this hospital’s Level 4 rating for its quality of specialized epilepsy care and listing her as a member of the epilepsy team.

A newsletter from the neurology residency program lists Ramkissoon among the class of 2016 with a focus in headaches and sleep medicine.
Before starting her residency at Jackson Memorial, she studied atSt. George University Medical Schoolin Grenada. She was a member of the medical school’s class of 2012, according to its website.
She completed her undergrad studies at Barry University in Miami in 2008.

In the backlash, Ramkissoon’s Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram have all gone dark.
Both Healthgrades.com and Vitals.com have listings for Ramkissoon, but only on Vitals can you post reviews. She’s up to more than 400 reviews with a rating of 1 out of 5. The reviews range from angry to absurd to lewd.
There are also some colorful reviews on her Facebook page for her practice.

PCGGGGG… why you do that?? :teary1:

Re: Drunk Doc!

I feel so bad for this chick. Even though she looks like *****y, party, obnoxious girl and what she did was horrible, idk I still feel bad for her. She destroyed her life literally! And luck was not on her side. This social media and news reporters really bother me. Capturing her on camera and posting it on youtube made the situation x 10 worse. If this wasn't posted, no one would have knows that happened and I think repercussions for her would be far less. Because I have seen doctors with DUIs, misdemeanor, minor assault charges who still practice medicine and they do it fine.

Maybe its a good thing she got exposed so she won't hurt any future patients but that much exposure makes me sad. All the comments section and social media is hating on her, calling her names, asking for her jobs, putting her in jail. I just think if the person hadn't recorded the video she would have much better chances to survive this. Now with this out in the media, she barely has any chance.

Every doc knows that to ride low and complete your training because until residency, medical community have you by the balls and one wrong move could jeopardize the career. That girl was stupid, beyond stupid, But I wonder if she just broke down mentally, or had other family issues going on. People on the internet is so quick to judge and the mob is so ready to lynch her ... I feel bad kinda

Re: Drunk Doc!

would you really feel bad if that were a guy throwing this tantrum? i dont think you need to feel bad, brah.

Re: Drunk Doc!

yes!! I would probably feel worse because I am a guy lol. With so much training, money, effort and horrible days, ending up in jail without job would make me feel bad for him. Its just the this blown way out of proportion and if it didn't went viral on youtube, she would have a better outcome. Now she is screwed for life because of her own mistake. And even though she deserved it, I feel bad because going through something monstrous like med school and residency and student loans just to end up jobless and a criminal record is just sad and stupid

Re: Drunk Doc!

Pisi just cuz there is a title "Dr." coming with her and its a "she" doesnt mean you feel 'bad' for her. She did terrible and i dont care if she is been judged for that. She should be.

Infact you should bad for that uber driver

Re: Drunk Doc!

It went crazy because of YouTube. Other than that, she will be ok future wise. Give it two three months and no one will remember

Re: Drunk Doc!

Her HealthGrades profile is showing incident in comment section.

Re: Drunk Doc!

The one recording the video called out her name, a good guess of mine is, perhaps, a friend?. He stands there, records her and puts up the video for the world to see. Good job, buddy! sarcasm

Re: Drunk Doc!

I thought the same, but he was apparently calling a friend of his and not this girl, the nAme was just a coincidence.

This story doesn’t give the details of what happened before she was put into the squad car. She was handcuffed and say on the curb, where she kicked the arresting officers and was said to have been verbally abusive. She was then put into the squad car, where she began crying.

Now, in response to her crying, the Uber driver said he would drop all charges because he felt bad for her, and her crying some how made him think “she felt bad for what she did.”

In the video, she even says “I’m only 5 feet tall, and a 100 pounds.”
She knew she was an attractive woman and would use that to get away with her obnoxious behaviour, which she did.

She may or may not be fired, but any future employer who googles her name, will come across this video.

Not to mention the sl*tty picture she has all over social media… how professional?!

And I agree with @queer, had this been a guy, he wouldn’t get such a happy ending to the story

Re: Drunk Doc!

The Indians i went to college with down there are mostly like this. Cuss like sailors and massive party mongers. This is why I was in GS Digichat (no longer exists  ). And this is why I hung out with the Muslim kids mostly.

This includes most of the med students and residents too. They know how to walk the walk so they show up to work super professional but man, they make for obnoxious drunks.

And this is why I don’t drink. I don’t want to be like this ever.

Re: Drunk Doc!

I'm curious who was the Uber driver. Muslim ?

The Indian crowd at UM-Jackson (love how UM pulls the "she isn't a UM employee" card), is mostly Gujarati and that too super anti-Pakistani and anti-Muslim. Like very visibly. How often they trash talk us at their parties. I know a few Muslim kids would show up at their events but when I saw a girl tear up a poster ad at UM for a Muslim event rolling her eyes and making mean gestures to her friends about us, I was done. Never went to one of their Indian meetings again. Very obnoxious crowd. The Indians in other parts of the country aren't like this at all and in fact Indian immigrants are way more welcoming to us. Maybe it's just a south Florida thing since professional behavior is horrid down here, but these kids come mostly from families in central and north Florida where indian doctors are raising families in small towns since money is so good in these small towns for docs. Most of them are not south Florida natives.

I work at another university now in Fl. Indian kids here don't behave like this.

Re: Drunk Doc!

I just saw the video. Uber driver is partially at fault. Why was he holding her wrists. He could have handled this without coming 5 feet near her or holding her wrists. And he held them for a while, didn't let go. When he did, he pushed her to the curb and she fell. That's when she got out of control.

If he did press charges she would say he was holding her against her well. She tries to get out of his grip twice from what I could see and he didn't let go of her wrists.

She is drunk so she is perceiving his aggression and retaliating. He is not drunk and should know better. He could have called the cops from inside his car and never have gotten out.

The filming crew was just the guy who originally ordered that uber. She was too wasted to realize it wasn't the uber she might have called, got in thinking it was her ride. Too drunk to sort it out.

If anything I'd say uber driver could be responsible. Either party tries to press charges then automatically they will have charges pressed on them so mutually both parties are staying quiet.

Too bad she lost her job over this. Matching into another residency will be hard.

Re: Drunk Doc!

I'm glad this was taped and she was exposed. I'm glad that YouTutbe and other media exposes stupidity like this before anyone seriously gets hurt. Her medical career is over. Good luck explaining to another residency program why she got kicked out of the current program. And in the future, when any patient decides to Google her, all this will come up.

She is LUCKY that the Uber driver chose not to press charges and her criminal record will remain clean. The Uber driver did nothing wrong and going by that video, she could easily be convicted of several charges. I'm sure the Uber driver deals with drunks on a regular basis and thought she was just another drunk b**ch. It was clear that all the Uber driver wanted to do is get out of there...he didn't want any drama. Either way....girl is lucky that no charges were pressed.

Re: Drunk Doc!

This. 85% of the Indian girls (mostly Sikh) that I know get drunkk and act like this belligerent idiot. And they all have this "princess" attitude.

She was physically abusing him and he only held her wrists when she got in his face. She kneed him in the groin, and he pushed her to the ground and moved to the other side of the car.

I dont see how any of this is his fault. He did the right thing by calling the cops and not fleeing the scene.

Also, she wasn't a UM student. From other reports, she went to some med school in the Caribbean and is only doing Neuro residency at Jackson.

Re: Drunk Doc!

I'm not surprised. The UM girls party and are jerks when they're drunk and sometimes when not drunk. But they know how to not get on TV.

The guys have similar problems. Wouldn't consider them cultural at all. They run from their Indian culture. Don't understand why.

I haven't noticed this with other Indian groups. Definitely not with Indians from India who came here as immigrants.

Re: Drunk Doc!

I remember in college they were all drunk coming back from south beach and one guy got in a fight with a girl and he halted his car on the highway and kicked her onto the side and drove off. I mean a big 5 lane freeway. He just dropped her there. Thank God she had a cell phone on her she could call a friend to pick her up.

Its just not classy behavior.

Re: Drunk Doc!

He didn't have to hold her wrists down for so long or push her. He could have just walked away and kept a distance. Gotten back in the car and driven off even and called the police from a distance.
