DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

Hey everybody!!!
So i came up with an idea.
I know a lot of ppl, including myself that want to start/maintain a healhty lifestyle which includes eating right as well including proper excerise to maintain a proper weight/ and body that im comfortable in.

So im starting this thread, which is a COMPETITION!! for those guppies that want to lose weight, feel right or just overall start a healthy lifestyle in general…

So guppies lets drop it like its hot — your pounds that is! loll

Lets start!

One day out of the week, every guppie has to list the things they’ve done during the week. I dont know if some guppies will feel comfortable with what they ate. But u can use this place as your “health diary”.
whether ppl want to lose weight, and are doing for medical reasons maybe, or just to boost some confidence or just want to do it general this is a great way – we can help each other out

I KNOW WE CAN!

So for an example:
Today July 14,
I excerisced for 30 minutes, - i went for a run, came home did lunges and stretches

The guppie that posts the most wins?

I dont know what, how or when…but think of it – you’ll lose some weight and feel happy!!

feel free to throw in your ideas of how we can get this comepetition more intense so that ppl actually follow through and lose weight.!

Also post tips/tricks and excersice methods to help other guppies here to help lose weight
Thanks

BAIGETTE

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

hmmm very good idea ...but what if someone is not tryina lose weight and rather actually want to gain healthy weight?.. people here will give ideas on how to lose weight and what not to eat to lose fat.. but what about for people who wanna gain weight?.. or is this thread only dedicated to those who're working hard to lose weight?

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

I'd like to lose about 10 pounds and be more toned.

Today
Exercise:
I walked 30 minutes to class, and then another 30 minutes back from class and with a few groceries.

Then I walked 10 minutes to yoga, had 1 hour of yoga, and 10 minutes back.
I thought about doing the Wii Fit, but was too tired :D

Food:
1 fruit smoothie
1 yogurt with granola
1 turkey breast sandwich with brown bread, cucumber, and spinach
pasta with tomato sauce and keema for dinner
some cake and tea for dessert :D

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

i totally forgot about thsi thread..
b/c im on this site:

Calorie Counter Database - Free Online Diet Program

but we can s till help each other - by posting healthy foods

and frozenfire – this is for everyone that just wants to get into a healthy lfiestyle – losing weight or gaining weight must be done in a healthy way – so both can msg here.

If you are trying to gain weight – try working out more — increasing your muscle which will give you the weight you want – and not the extra fat.

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

if you think it is hard, you wont be motivated, you need take a positive turn on it.
you have to think it as you WANT to lose weight, not that you HAVE to.

Write down what you eat during the day. Kepping track of what you eat helps. and include 30 mintues of excersice a day. which includes walking as well.

Eating I have to say is hard...but it takes time to get used to..so dont get all bummed out if your finding it difficult.
Start off with portion control, than move onto eating healthier foods.

and dont take out carbs out of your diet, your body needs carbs.
umm, and that is all i can think of right now

g'day

^Thank u....
if you think it is hard, you wont be motivated, you need take a positive turn on it.
you have to think it as you WANT to lose weight, not that you HAVE to.

But how???

First few weeks are the hardest when you are trying to develope a work out routine. Once you start losing weight, motivation kicks in automatically.

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

exactly wat sajal said

0ab0 pointed out something really great

its like the movie THE SECRET

you need to think positively about it

if you wake up in the morning and be like...oh gawwd i have to workout....you will never lose weight. Instead you have to put a positive turn on it, and literally be like YAYY im going to work out, and im going to feel great.

i really do believe it works.

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

totally agreed with 0ab0 and sajal

you need to keep track of what you eat.
1) consult a doctor
- or a nutritonist, they can be helpful in guiding you throughout your weightloss/weightgain
- you want to make sure your doign it the proper way

2) make a food diary - its very imp.
which includes, what you ate, how much, and at what time.
so for example a bowl of cereal - 1 cup of cereal 1/2 cup of 1% milk or something.
and include time for excersicing it,
once yo start making a food diary - you'll be able to manage what you eat and manage your time around it so you have time of excersice. A food diary also helps you to see what your eating right/wrong, what makes you sick etc - sometimes when your eating, you may not realize the quantity - but writing it down makes you realize it.
2) Exercise,
try to include at least 30 minutes of excersice a day. But if your just starting, try like 3 times a week. You don't necessarily need a membership at the gym (that doesn't mean you will work out - it might motivate you) but theres tons of excersices and techniques you can do at the comfort at your home, and thanks to youtube - theres instructional videos that teach you. Join classes if you can/want to as well - yoga is amazing for everyone.
get an excerisce buddy - someone that will motivate you to work out with them as well. Or even encourage you, sometimes you need that slap on the hand type of friend to stop you from over eating or to encourage you to work out.

3) Be positive and have fun
If you have a positive attitude like 0ab0 says, than nothing can stop you

4) Be healthy
you need to eat 3 times a day, with snacks in b/w -- overeating is wrong, but skipping meals is wrong as well. You need to keep a medium
- and being healthy doesn't mean you cant enjoy fatty foods like fries - just need to learn about porportion -- which you will once you start keeping a diary

if you guys want, you can share your diary on here. To get help - thers lots of doctors on here, and other people that are confused about what to eat.

Maybe we can post recipes and excersice techniques as well.

good luck

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

like my friends know;)
i wathc tara stiles a lot - shes soo easy to learn from i’ve been doing her basic yoga every morning and have been watching her vidoes
here’s the link

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

also i forgot to mention,

i heard someone talk about posture
and how that can help you.

Apparently when you keep your back posture right - so sit up right, shoulders down, and keep your tummy tucked in (YES EVEN WHILE YOUR ON THE COMP) it helps you to lose weight...but most imp relieve stress. remeber to breath in and out while your doing it too...its like a workout ahha

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

Okay here’s my latest plan. I want to get more toned and lose a little bit of the excess weight around my tummy (I’m currently at 111). For now I’m going to focus on the cardio and then add other things as I get more comfy with the exercise routine.

Here’s my plan for the next 10 days

  • 1 hr daily on my elliptical with no resistence, going at about 10-11 mph (according to its meter, which I doubt is accurate), and burning 200 calories (again according to its inaccurate meter)
  • brief yoga afterwards and/or perhaps a bit of time on the Wii fit (once hubby sets it up again :halo: )

I’ve done the above today (1hr on the elliptical and like 10 minutes of yoga).

I’ll keep a daily record on my blog.

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

I am so happy right now..
I have tried to eat healthy this week, But I had my bad days. I have to be honest that I did not exercise this week as I promised myself . But I lost 4 pounds and that feels great..

26 pounds to loose..

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

Excellent thread Baigette.

Hmmm, I have drastically cut down on my carbs. I can feel more energy and I've lost a few pounds.

I do need a better routine for working out. I have guests at my place for another 10 days. I guess I'll be back to my pilates after they leave.

Re: DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT****

had green tea today. Full of anti oxitants and may help in weight loss.
