Drinking Alcohol

Is it a deal breaker? Social drinking that is - one or two glasses a week at a happy hr - for example.

Re: Drinking Alcohol

NO WAY. no one who drinks alcohol, socially or not, can ever be my life partner. (if you are talking in the marriage sense)

Re: Drinking Alcohol

Definitely a deal breaker.

Re: Drinking Alcohol

Even smoking would be a deal breaker for me. Smokers stink and drunk people stink more. :snooty:

Re: Drinking Alcohol

definite deal breaker

Re: Drinking Alcohol

A muslim drinking would just further reflect on how much (rather little) they loved and fear Allah... so yes, definitely a deal breaker.

Re: Drinking Alcohol

Yes..for me..if a girl drinks..definitely negative.

Re: Drinking Alcohol

Smoking/Drinking = no

Re: Drinking Alcohol

Hypocrisy in nature is a deal breaker then drinking alcohol socially.

Drinking Alcohol

Yes it would be

Re: Drinking Alcohol

For me smoking and drinking are a big NO.

Re: Drinking Alcohol

Why the hell not? Not only drinking/smoking but also eating haram food. A lot of people are consuming haram stuff and don't even seem to care. Oh my dad made me this, oh I was hungry, oh it was free. BS. Even a single drop of alcohol or a taste of haram stuff and I'm out.

Re: Drinking Alcohol

Definitely a deal breaker for me

Re: Drinking Alcohol

if the person drinks himself/herself and does NOT fear crossing Allah's set boundaries, why the social drinking or otherwise NOT be OK?

Re: Drinking Alcohol

Similar values should be had for the self and the spouse. That would be non-hypocritical

Re: Drinking Alcohol

What were those famous words uttered by Devdas…“hum to peetay hain tumhe bardaasht karne k liye” :halo:

Re: Drinking Alcohol

Drinking boss is fine, how about pork eating boss. i know pork is mor 'haram' than alcohol.

BTW i know a lot of Pakis who eat the haram animal and drink haram liquid. Why so confused PCG? just take care of your own 'character' and stop judging others.

Why you have to make issue out of everything. let the man do his stuff. I have a lot of muslims working for me and no one gives a hoot about what i do. They like me because i give them same sht as i give to others.

Re: Drinking Alcohol

Drinking and smoking, both are deal breakers. Whether its something thats being done daily/weekly or have been done in the past.

Re: Drinking Alcohol

This thread seems so idealistic to me, reminds me of how I used to think… :hinna:

I’ve been told repeatedly that I’m naive and that* koi’ee bari baat nahin *- *ghalti hojaati hai larkon/mardon se aur shaadi ke baad badaljayengay and they’ll give up their bad habits. *In fact it’s their wife’s responsibility to help them see the error of their ways.

I’ve also been told that I’m being unrealistic and judgmental if I’m think badly of a guy who is a social drinker or drank in the past.

I’ll admit - knowing someone drank or eats haraam is a HUGE turnoff, but I was willing to overlook it IF he acknowledges that it’s wrong and he gave it up long before he met me.

Re: Drinking Alcohol

kaun bardasht karne ke liye main to peeti hoon jaise mujhe energy mile gs pe poori raat post karne ki.
i was talking about soft drinks in the quote above.
but yeh peena hai toh usse soft drinks peene pe convince karti. alcohol sehat ke liye bhi acha nahi hahi if in great moments. Best if he can downgrade to water though. Soft drinks and orange juice are very sugary.
