Hello fashionistas, please post suggestions for an outfit that I could have made for Eid.
I don’t want something as casual as lawn/cotton (especially when you consider the prices of lawn nowadays, it doesn’t seem worth it) but looking at designs online everything else just seems to formal and more suited to wedding attire. I need something ‘in between’.
My other requirements are:
something with long sleeves
no chooridar pajamas (got big feet :p)
something big boob friendly
nothing too heavily embellished with sequins etc as I always find it ends up catching on the dupatta. Plus it’s uncomfortable when holding a baby. I’d prefer something that focuses mainly on machine embroidery
I’m open to suggestions on colour combinations. I like the idea of teal with bronze (as suggested by the lovely khawateen) but need design ideas
You know what gets me?
Ready made clothing designers will make outfits with enough width at the bust but not enough at the armhole or the sleeves…like people with larger busts have greatly disproportionate bodies with super skinny arms…
Yes! I thought it was only me who had this issue with ready made clothing, which is why I rarely buy ready made as usually I end up having to take the kameez apart to widen the armholes and sleeves - assuming theres actually enough fabric inside to do so.
I just gave something to the tailor...will post pics as soon as I get it :D Its navy blue self paisley designed malai lawn...flowy, looks like shamose silk...And i designed it with a super trendy cut and nice buttons to make it fancy, later to be used for dinners, dawats, dholkis etc...
I also design clothes, freelance..basically have been making clothes for friends and family, and their friends and family (word of mouth) but discontinued since I moved to canada
Brit I have the same issue. Nothing fits since baby. Heavy chest and wide shoulders. Not to derail your thread but any idea of good designers who deliver to the UK?
Take any shirt from internet and modify the design/cuts a bit to fit your body type. Here are a few pictures. Read them with comments to make sense.
Instead of panels, make it slightly A line. A trouser instead of choridar. Bell shaped sleeves. Keep embroidery patterns where it is.
A patterned fabric on the front. If you want fancy, the edges of angrakha can have machine embroidery or a fancy lace. Make it in two tone with color on the top in a darker tone than the bottom.
As is would be fine but embroidery is too heavy so might want to replace it with something similar in machine.
Front should be modified to give a bodice look. Again use two tone from dark to light.
