I am not sure in which section to post it. This discussion is hard to explain. It is not exactly science, because science can not explain it. May be it is related to spirituality. Or may be it is science, just not discovered yet.
Well, you can tell I am confused.

So here is the story:

Two of our relatives, husband and wife, came to visit us for a few months from another country. Their visit was not for site-seeing, rather they were here for an emergency.
Sadly (extremely sadly), the lady’s mother died unexpectedly in another country in the first month of their visit. Their family members informed her husband, let’s call him my uncle, of what had happened, and he in turn informed me. We agreed that it is not the best time to tell the lady of her mother’s death because she could not travel back due to that emergency. Informing her would have only upset her. It was a very very difficult for us to make, but we had to do it for her own good. (Later when she found out about it, she agreed that it was the right thing to do).
But anyway, this is not the point of this thread. So let’s move on.

Here is the strange part. My uncle told me during those days that my aunt, his wife, is not able to sleep well in nights. She wakes up in the middle of the night. And she can not explain why.
My uncle said that even though she does not know it, but somehow she has felt the death of her mother.

I was a bit surprised, but still I was skeptical of his conclusion. I did not say anything.

After a few months they were ready to fly back. At that time we decided that we should give my aunt some sort of news about her mother, so that she may not get shocked when she finds out. So at the airport he told her that her mother had very high blood pressure and was taken to hospital, and that for now things seem better now, but she has not returned from hospital yet.
My aunt’s reply. She said that she has been seeing a dream for quite some time where she see her dead relatives asking her mother to go with them.

Now it was time for me to get shocked. We had done our best to hide this news from her every way possible. She did not know the truth even at the airport. And yet she was saying that her mother is probably dead. She saw it in her dreams.

It’s amazing. Science can not explain it in anyway. And yet there are people who swear that they have had Extra-sensory perceptions.
There are things beyond science and physical matter.

I read this about telepathy. Its description of telepathy is close to what my relative experienced.

Attitudinal factors also influence the phenomenon. The best that researchers can hope for is to have supportive and receptive subjects in experiments that produce similar results.

Why does it surprise you? I dont think it is so unknown anymore. Some people, being highly sensitive, have extra ordinarily sensitive sensory / nervous system. Just like we have heard of birds & animals who can 'feel' & warn about the danger before it arrives. These people can 'feel' the danger in the air. Sometimes they can tell why they feel 'uncomfortable' & what the danger is, sometimes they cannot. It depends on the level of the sensitivity of their nervous system. It is just that additionally sensitive sensory system which helps them 'pick the hints' before they happen or some things / incidents occurring some other part of the world at the same time which they can feel & tell.

I thought it was a common knowledge?

hmm. I don't know. I had heard about these things before. But it is different when you experience it yourself.

The universe is more mysterious than we imagine.

Now that you have raised this issue of animal premonitions. Most people try to find a scientific answer to it. I don't know people who explain it through ESP.
But yes, it may be ESP. Problem is animals don't talk. :)

It is not neccessary for them to talk to tell what / how they feel. There are ways for them to express themselves. Havent you seen people talking to their pets? Some people talk to plants & understand their needs. if you have any plants in your house, from today, try paying some attention to them, care for them, touch them, water them, smile at them. You would see it growing bigger & much more beautiful flowers, fruits or leaves next time. Incase they are in pain (lack of water or light or more sun than they need), try to place them in a better (moderate) environment / location, you will 'feel' them becoming happier.

You can also try talking to your pets if you have any, birds or animals, doesnt matter. You will see that they understand you & you'll understand them even though you cannot communicate with them by talking. It is through mental communication. Or in other words, somewhat similar to telephathy, what you described in your second post.

But I am telling you, man. I was really awed.

The link posted above also says that ESP has lot to do with emotional state of people. Does it mean that one needs to be high in emotions or very sensitive to experience it?!

Very sensitive to expeience it. Highly sensitive. More than the normal people.

This sensitvity may come as a result of a human's emotional state, no doubt. That could be one reason to him /her being more sensitive than others. But there has to be a basic ground. I mean, someone who is not too sensitive naturally by birth, may not have enhanced sensitivity for prenomination even under the influence of a certain emotional state. He / she might feel frustrated, angry or have any other emotions but not necessarily be able to penetrate the unseen / unknown.

last year i was feeling really awkward and something inside me was not right, something was telling me that back home my father is no more, but these are things you don't want to believe, i tried everything to take my mind of the feeling and then the phone rang and without answering i told my wife that my Father has passed away... and so was the case...

Other exp i had was in my teens, i got injured in accident was immediately referred for operation, i was aware of everything and last thing i re-called was the face of my mom, incidentally, my uncle didn't inform my mama about my state as she was in different country at that time, but she called my uncle as insisted to talk to me ( mobiles were not that common those days) and told her that he already had a feeling that my son is not well...

So it is there only science don't know how to explain it and there are lots of things science did and do not knew/know.. but yes sometimes it feels like that if put right focus on certain things then are powers with human brain to communicate without any physical medium...

These Science are there from ancient times and are obtained from the purity of heart and different exercises make them available to the humans at their will....

Every human have capability of sending and receiving signals,

That is very interesting. It looks like if a person thinks of someone else during distress then the other person can get the signal. It's possible that my aunt's mom may be thinking about her at the time of her death. :(

Yes, it can hardly ever be explained by science. Because science needs experiments which can be repeated anytime by any person provided the given inputs.
But what we are discussing is more about emotional state of mind. And is highly subjective in nature, that is, it is difficult to quantify emotions.

it is really misterious ...i dont know what it is..i am not superstitious but i do belive there are some of the powers that work to make us to predict things or to warn a person about things to happen....i guess it happens to every one however the tendency to sensitise such things may differ person to person...no doubt world is more misterious than we imagine...

Amazing.

When my youngest brother was wounded i felt the pain...

When me and my wife first met she and i found we have simmilar scars on our body but whereas mine were inflicted through injury hers came about through something else.... strange how these things happen.

Even dreams are supposed to foretell of the future and during certian dark and shodowy parts of the night i find myself in other worlds

What we know through science is just a grain in the sand. The knowledge which we still do not have about this universe is like sand of a huge desert.

There are so many surahs of Quran & duas one can recite to gain superior wisdom & knowledge by the will & help of God. I think 'Surah 'Nashrah' is one such surah & I am sure there are more. Apart from that, among Allah's names, there are 'Ya Aleemu', 'Ya Hakeemu', 'Ya Khabeeru', 'Ya Muhayiminu', etc. (11 times durood sharif before & after each name) which can be recited for enhanced understanding, wisdom, knowledge, of this world & the unknown.

Apart from that, 'Ya Fattahu', 'Ya Quddusu' & some more (11 times durood sharif before & after each name) can be recited to gain spirituality & weaken base desires.

I am not superstitious either. In fact I made my dear mother upset one time because of such discussion.
But after this episode I now know that there are things beyond science, and looks like we are never going to find out about them.

yes once i had a dream that some one picking my pocket..... in the morning i had to visit other town but i had heavy amount along with US $ in my pocket, I think a lot and just drop $'s at my flat and left for other town. On my return i went to Daweoo stand to purchase the ticket for my home town and after purchasing ticket i checked my pocket and my money along with my driving license disappeared :(

Last year after eid I started getting weird dreams . The most horrible dream was I saw myself dead and I saw my dead grand mother giving ghusul to me. I was also expecting at that time. Within 1 week I had to be hospitalised due to very high fever. I ended up spending entire month in hospital. I was really really sick. I was sure that I wouldn't get out of hospital alive. It was the WORST experience of my life. Lying in hospital bed all day with cannula in hand , I couldn't eat anything I couldn't drink anything , I couldn't stand on my feet. I just wanted my baby to survive. I think it was my parents prayers that both of us survived. My mother used to spent all the nights praying for my health. I could hear her crying in her prayers.

when i was young i had a dream about our house catching on fire and one of our relatives helped me out in throwing water at the house...a month later my parents got divorced and that same relative helped us so much through that time
its weird how these things happen...
like i also remember once back in 2008 around midnight i got a really weird feeling like something was wrong...like someone i loved was in danger...an hour later i got a call that one of my friends had been in an accident
