Dreaming about others

Is it acceptable or weird to tell others about your (non-sexual, non-violent, non-bizarre) dreams about them?

Re: Dreaming about others

It depends on who it is. I've told friends about seeing them in dreams before.

Re: Dreaming about others

Depending on your comfort level with the other person sure, why not.

Re: Dreaming about others

now whats wrong in sharing PG-13 dreams :bummer: ???

Re: Dreaming about others

Depends on how close you are to the person. When I dream of my siblings (and it's a bizarre dream), I usually tell them and we laugh at it. I don't think I've discussed dreams with anyone but immediate family and very close friends. It just isn't one of those topics that people care to talk about. I hardly remember what I dreamt of last night anyway. :P

But I don't see why it wouldn't be acceptable if you did want to tell someone you dreamt of them (provided there was nothing crazy about the dream that would make them feel uncomfortable or awkward).

Re: Dreaming about others

It depends upon if its a dream dream or day dream about that person

Re: Dreaming about others

ahaaa. but (and this is sort of unrelated to my original question) what if you dream about someone you kind of know but not really close with, didn’t interact with them recently and yet they somehow came in your dream? I’ve had those kinds of dreams many times and I’m always left confused as to why they were there…

It depends on the dream and who had the dream and what was in the dream now doesnt it :faizy:

What’s the idfference? Day dream is intentional and dream dream is unintentional?

Re: Dreaming about others

Ah well that one is always a bit dodgy. Although personally I'm pretty straight up so I'd just say it and deal with the consequences later :p

On a sidenote, I can lucid dream ;) Most amazing thing ever.

Re: Dreaming about others

what is lucid dreaming?

Re: Dreaming about others

No way! You're missing out on the art of dreaming! ;)

Lucid dreaming is when you're aware that you're dreaming and can manipulate your dream to experience whatever the hell you want. Its like your own alternate reality, no rules apply! I can also continue my dreams sometime even when I'm not lucid dreaming. Like I'll be dreaming and I get woken up or whatever and then when I get back to bed, I just carry on where I left.

Lucky for you, you can 'learn' to lucid dream!

Re: Dreaming about others

Learn from where??

Re: Dreaming about others

that sounds way too Inception-like.

Sometimes illw ake up from a really nice dream and try to think about it to go back to that dream.

Re: Dreaming about others

i do lucid dreaming all the time, but sometimes it's hard to tell whether what I made happen in the lucid dream was just a dream or whether I actually did it. mine are mostly all non-pg13

Re: Dreaming about others

^…i can’t even dream…and you guys are doing all the fun stuff…:smack:

Re: Dreaming about others

i enjoy sleeping and dreaming way too much :hehe: why the  smiley

Re: Dreaming about others

i can't dream/ remember them.....i am disappointed thats why..

Re: Dreaming about others

Like teach yourself. Google 'lucid dreaming' and I'm sure there's plenty of stuff around. Thank me later ;)

Its definitely fun. Of course I don't do it all the time otherwise how do I distinguish between the conscious and subconscious but if it depends, mostly I just act spontaneously and make something up. Try it and trust me it opens up a whole new dimension to your sleeping.

Re: Dreaming about others

I don't think the concept of lucid dreaming is alien to any one of us. We must have experienced it unknowingly if not knowingly. It happens to me a lot! Especially when its a dream where I'm in trouble, I can create happy endings myself. =D

Re: Dreaming about others

hmm…i knew about it…after inception did two days of googling…but any ‘techniques’ would be awesome

BTW…
Scarelett Johanssen is first on the list :e6:

damn!..i got killed a few times…:nahi:

Re: Dreaming about others

Barbie there’s a distinction. The ‘becoming aware’ part might be common but the manipulation part certainly doesn’t come to everyone. I suppose I’m talking about actively being able to guide your dreams to wherever you want, however you want. That is lucid dreaming. And most people definitely aren’t capable of that unless they ‘work on it’.

And NomiCA! Haraam! :lahol:
