Barbie there’s a distinction. The ‘becoming aware’ part might be common but the manipulation part certainly doesn’t come to everyone. I suppose I’m talking about actively being able to guide your dreams to wherever you want, however you want. That is lucid dreaming. And most people definitely aren’t capable of that unless they ‘work on it’.

i never knew there was an actual name for it, i’ve been dreaming like that since i was 12 yrs old. interesting.
i manipulate my dreams like all the time or else they would be pretty boring, like if i’m interrupted during one, after i go back to sleep again i change the ending of it so i’m satisfied

Lucid dreaming is when you’re aware that you’re dreaming and can manipulate your dream to experience whatever the hell you want. Its like your own alternate reality, no rules apply! I can also continue my dreams sometime even when I’m not lucid dreaming. Like I’ll be dreaming and I get woken up or whatever and then when I get back to bed, I just carry on where I left.

Haha, I do that sometimes. If the dream is particularly good and I have time to oversleep, I go back to sleep and carry on. Best thing ever. Works most of the time but not all the time.

Yesterday I had a dream about this girl I used to crush on in school. Epic dream. I only had 5 hours to sleep so I had to wake up :hinna:

Shiiii school crushes drifts away I still can’t forget my first crush man, I was in Grade 3 bru and she was the finest piece of primary youknowwhat I had ever seen. Well I hadn’t seen much of anything but you know what I mean. And I still know her to this date. Hell she lives like 30 minutes away from me. And at one point we both liked each other but it was just weird you know? Like I don’t know how to explain it.

I don't think the concept of lucid dreaming is alien to any one of us. We must have experienced it unknowingly if not knowingly. It happens to me a lot! Especially when its a dream where I'm in trouble, I can create happy endings myself. =D

hmmm...somehow when I'm having a bad dream I ALWAYS wake up in time, like if i'm being chased by a killer or something bad is about to happen, i wakeup right before it happens...its pretty scary when it does...i have yet to dream of it actually happening..

There isn't much to discuss really, my school life is just a sob story of missed opportunities. I was shy and reserved and never went after any of the girls I liked. The one I did go after turned out to be a heartless *****. My first major crush was in 5th grade, and oh my days she was a beauty. The only problem was pretty much all the guys in the class, and then some, were crushing on her. Most of my high school crushes are now married and here I am, still single :(.

Wow I’ve been dreaming Lucid dreams for years… either that or self controlled hallucinations…

If I dream about others and the dream seems real and serious enough to warrant discussion then sure I think it’s okay… if it’s just a wierd dream that does not make any sense then It’s best not to mention it.
