i just watched the 9th episode here in the US this weekend.
how many episodes is it based on??

i'm loving it so far. i love simple dramas that have substance. like DORAHA!!
please give us more work like this drama ppl!

it's the only drama i'm watching after VANEE. which was also great!!

I made the mistake by reading the entire story on the GEO site after the first episode.. So I kinda know what’s gonna happen in this drama..!

I was looking for something else and somehow ended up reading the storyline.. I wanted to click it away.. but somehow, I just couldnt..

But yet.. still watching it and am gonna watch it till the last episode..Pretending like I never read the storyline..

Mo its 14 episodes and the drama is superb simply.After ages I have seen the drama which is very nice.No fashion, nothing just simple story and the ending is nice too.:)

I luv this drama and I luv Sonia Rehman (infact I am a huge fan), BUT am I the only one who thought her expressions were a little too kind and gentle while talking to her husband (like bajion walay)???

Doraha- A masterpiece

Before last night, I hadn't seen a Pakistani Drama since 2000. There are about a gazilion channels churing out crap after crap so i had never thought of watching a drama.
My sister gave me the Drama DVD, before i left pakistan and i have to say, this drama is wayy up there with all those PTV classics that we miss. The characters are realistic and relatable, the story line is engaging, the direction is superb. Even the tinniest bit of detail has been taken into account by the team, whether it's clothing, makeup or how a lower middle class family's home should look like. The background score is mesmerizing.

All in all an AMAZING not to be missed drama. A true tribute to the good old days of Pakistani Dramas!!!!!!!! Those who can't get access to a DVD, you can always view it online

I totally agree.. I watched the drama online after hearing good reviews about it on GS. I am glad I watched it though. I wish they made more plays like this one. :k:

This drama reminded me of the good old days of PTV when dramas were made of substance and not overly made up women, elaborate sets and melodramatic unrealistic stories which unfortunately is the problem with dramas these days. a HUGE breath of fresh air. Mehreen has started shooting her new drama 'Malal'. It should be airing sometime this year. Hope it's as amazing as Doraha

Ohmygawd....just finished watching this serial on DVD and I'm totally spellbound. The story was spectacular, dialogues eerily natural....and the entire cast has done such a marvellous job, special mentions for the actress playing Sara and Humayun Saeed. One of the best dramas to come out in a long, long time and Mehreen Jabbar and the writer need to be lauded for their amazing work. I'd give this one a solid 10/10. No flaws whatsoever -- this one really IS perfect.

the issue is not if an actor is fat or slim but the fact that he/she should fit the role.

here sara is a girl(read woman) for whom umer has rejected a cute girl like shehla and another character is dying to marry her, and both of these men are handsome and desirable themselves, so the character of sara needs to be attractive as in general.
moveover sonia rehman looks aged with these men.
