Re: Why can’t god become a human being?

this guy is funny. the VCR analogy was just too much.

this is what hero has to say about islam and polygamy.

Suppose my sister happens to be one of the unmarried women living in USA, or suppose your sister happens to be one of the unmarried women in USA. The only two options remaining for her are that she either marries a man who already has a wife or becomes public property. There is no other option. All those who are modest will opt for the first.

read on for more such gems.

Re: Why can’t god become a human being?

why polyandry is not okay, according to brother zakir naik

A woman who has more than one husband will have several sexual partners at the same time and has a high chance of acquiring venereal or sexually transmitted diseases which can also be transmitted back to her husband even if all of them have no extra-marital sex. This is not the case in a man having more than one wife, and none of them having extra-marital sex.

i wonder where he got his medical degree from.

I think it will be more helpful.

Re: Why can’t god become a human being?

lol exactly… u just have to write the instructions of VCR , u DONT HAVE to be a vcr…lol…

Re: Why can't god become a human being?

This guy is amazing. I have attended some of his lectures. His memory of scripture (of every religion) and his point of views are modren and modest. He lectures are based on logic and exact words in context. I am not sure about the quotes above - they are slightly misleading (since he doesn't take care of the site himself, I think they are misintrupted).

Re: Why can’t god become a human being?

That’s my understanding too… Allah knows best.. The only thing i can tell is that when I had met him personally, he was an encyclopedia of comparitive studies of Religions.

Re: Why can’t god become a human being?

dude, they are verbatim transcripts of his videos. also, funnily enough, the questions asked in his show from mumbai are so obviously staged.

Re: Why can't god become a human being?

Queer and the other hangers-on:

Dr. Zakir Naik is a renowned theologian and an Islamic philosopher...His books and lectures are heard and attended by very prominent and literate people...

He uses analogy to describe to a layman a question which many would have...Since logical deductions from analogy and similitudes require a semblance of knowledge about what someone is talking about, this thread is really not for you guys...

Re: If Islam means Peace, then why does it preach JIhad?

Islam means submission, not peace.
You must find out if a person who has submitted himself can be coverted into a jihadi?

Re: If Islam means Peace, then why does it preach JIhad?

^ I too am surprised by the number of people who translate Islam as peace. From whatever I've read, it translates to submission (to Allah). Wallahu alim

Re: If Islam means Peace, then why does it preach JIhad?

the word islam has a two-fold meaning

*Definition
The word ISLAM has a two-fold meaning: peace, and submission to God. This submission requires a fully conscious and willing effort to submit to the one Almighty God. *

Is·lam (ĭs-läm’, ĭz-, ĭs’läm’, ĭz’-) pronunciation
n.

  1. A monotheistic religion characterized by the acceptance of the doctrine of submission to God and to Muhammad as the chief and last prophet of God.
    1. The people or nations that practice Islam; the Muslim world.
    2. The civilization developed by the Muslim world.

Arabic ’islām, submission, from ’aslama, to surrender, resign oneself, from Syriac ’ašlem, to make peace, surrender, derived stem of šlem, to be complete.

http://www.answers.com/topic/islam
..
In Arabic, Islām means “submission” (understood as submission to God) and is described as a Dīn or Deen, meaning “way of life” and/or “religion.” Etymologically, it is derived from the same root as, for example, Salām meaning “peace” (also a common salutation). The word Muslim is also related to the word Islām and means one who “surrenders” or “submits” to God.

Re: Dr. Zakir Naik: Lectures on various topics

I had heard about Naik many times so finally got sometime out today to read his web site. I can't beleive this guy is a doctor. I am really interested where he got his degree from. His examples are so illogical than only village illiterates can wave their heads and say wah wah...unfortunately he speaks english and educated muslims get sucked into his moronic logics.

Here is his logic on why eating meat is Ok in Islam....totally funny stuff...I mean I am meat lover.....and I love steak of gaomaata more than anything...lately if I don't barbeque atleast 1 tri tips for my self alone a week I feel like I am missing something....but to come up with stufff and that too to justify it from religious point of view...funny funny...nothing wrong if religion allows eating meat...I actually like it...but rad naiklogic:

**
11. Over population of cattle

If every human being was a vegetarian, it would lead to overpopulation of cattle in the world, since their reproduction and multiplication is very swift. Allah (swt) in His Divine Wisdom knows how to maintain the balance of His creation appropriately. No wonder He has permitted us to have the meat of the cattle.

  1. Cost of meat is reasonable since all aren’t non-vegetarians

I do not mind if some people are pure vegetarians. However they should not condemn non-vegetarians as ruthless. In fact if all Indians become non-vegetarians then the present non-vegetarians would be losers since the prices of meat would rise.

Re: Dr. Zakir Naik: Lectures on various topics

11: why then Allah created Pigs if they were dirty to eat....they breed even faster than cattle...cattle give birth to one, pigs breed half a dozen every year.

  1. since prices are reasonable , it is good thing to eat meat....who can argue with such a religious "scholar" and "philospher".

Re: Dr. Zakir Naik: Lectures on various topics

Here is Dr Naik sahib on the use of word "kafir"

**2. If non-Muslims are hurt - they should accept Islam.

If any non-Muslim considers the word ‘Kafir’ i.e. ‘non-Muslim’ as an abuse, he may choose to accept Islam and then we will stop referring to him as or call him a kafir i.e. a non-Muslim. A Muslim does not get hurt when being called a non-Hindu or non-Jew. In the same way a Hindu should not feel hurt when called a non-Muslim.
**

such pragmatism, tolerance and spirit for coexistence...subhan allah. with scholar like this Islam does not need Bush and Cheney.
