Two vehicles set on fire as violence erupts in Karachi
KARACHI, April 9 (APP): Shops on the busy M.A. Jinnah Road in downtown Karachi were shut and there was stampede after armed men resorted to firing near Tibet Center. Earlier there had been a scuffle between two groups of lawyers in the City Courts after which unknown persons resorted to firing at different places at M.A. Jinnah road during which at east two vehicles were set on fire. Meanwhile, strong police posse arrived at the scene and started patrolling on M.A. Jinnah Road. A police official said details of the incident were being probed. At least eight lawyers were injured and taken to Civil Hospital following the scuffle the lawyers’ groups. According to reports, a group of lawyers loyal to Karachi-based MQM party clashed with lawyers sympathetic to the ruling Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP).
Arsonists set fire to offices of the Malir Bar, the only lawyers’ association in the city which is not dominated by MQM loyalists.

MQM loves being a mob and will live like gangsters, it was shameful of Mushy to support them just like it was shameful for Zia to give birth to them. As long as Mushy is still holding power there will be no touching of MQM (since army is apparently still supporting Mushy). No matter how much "boom" Karachi has seen in past few years it will remain a terrorised city as long as MQM thrives there.

Read through this whole thread, and you will see some people supporting it, laughing at it, asking who will be/should be next in line etc. Then go read the Arbab Rahim thread, and you will see even more people applauding what happened to the ex-CM of Sindh.
If you want me to give you links, I will do so. The person who opened this thread opened it with a smilie laughing at the treatment meted our to Dr Afghan.
What the lawyer goons did was wrong.
What MQM goons did is wrong.
What PPP goons is also wrong.
I won't justify any of the actions of any goon - MQM, wukla, govt or anyone. Nor will I say that one did wrong, so the other is justified in beating him now. Wrong is wrong - period. No justifications, no excuses!

MIANWALI: Former federal minister Dr. Sher Afgan Niazi directed the peole of his native city Mianwali to stay calm. Addressing the journalists, he said PML-N leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif are responsible for the attack on him at Mozang road of Lahore.

LAHORE, Pakistan—The violence witnessed against Sher Afghan by the lawyers is a manifestation of their attitude, their confusion and how they place themselves above the law in the name of the ‘Lawyers Movement’.
For many long months now, the so called leaders of this movement had taken upon themselves - suo motto - the agenda of restoring the judiciary, in the process making themselves unaccountable for their deeds.
These so called leaders were backed by many fellow lawyers, who, over a period of time, have repeatedly demonstrated a total lack of tolerance toward even other fellow lawyers not subscribing to the same point of view.
Egged on, by these leaders, the lawyers made an uncalled for and unprovoked attack on a single, old, unarmed man. This from the Criers of Democracy!
But now, no one,is ready to accept the buck!
In his press address to the media, Aitzaz Ahsan, tried first to place the blame on "police forces", then the "Caretaker Government". Last but not the least, he decided to place the blame at the door of a weak Presidency!
Anyone and everyone but himself! Squarely responsible for this incident are the leaders themselves, in urging on the Lawyers to take law into their hands.
The newly empowered government had promised to deal with the issue of judiciary within a stipulated period of time. As a matter of principle, the Parliament should have been given the time stated to fulfill it's word.
But this would have stolen the limelight from certain elements. Call was given for a Long March, rallies and boycotts continued in total defiance of the Parliament and the Party policy to which Aitzaz belongs!
Although Aitzaz stated his decision to resign as SCBA President, Munir Malik later stated, it is a token gesture.
Indeed!
Saanp bhi mar giya aur lathi bhi na tooti!
Aitzaz Ahsan should stop trying to pass the buck to one after another and accept responsibility where responsibility is due. This is how a leader should behave. IF he is man enough, he should not only stand by his resignation from the SCBA presidency but also as member of PPP, a party whom he has repeatedly flaunted, shamed and let down.
I am ashamed today, to be a lawyer!

The News International newspaper, in its frontpage photograph on Wednesday, Apr. 9, showed Mr. Ashraf Gamot, the tall and young lawyer seen standing right behind his master in all public events, was carrying a shoe and hitting Dr. Niazi’s head with it. ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—Aitzaz Ahsan in his press conference in Lahore on Wednesday has once again tried to start a blame game and tried to defend an act of blatant aggression against a veteran politician Dr. Sher Afgan Niazi.
Mr. Ahsan can be excused for this blame game since all those who were committing this aggression against an aging parliamentarian were none other than his own men.
Aitzaz must explain why he is trying to cover up a criminal act. Is he not aware that :
The person who was beating Dr. Sher Afgan was ASHRAF GAMOT ADVOCATE, Aitezaz’s own close associate.
The person who was punching Dr. Sher Afgan was MUHAMMAD SAEED ADVOCATE. Again his close associate.
The person who dragged Dr. Sher Afgan from the collar was MUHAMMAD AZHAR ADVOCATE of SCBA .
The person who managed this whole drama was LATIF SARA ADVOCATE. Again his close friend.
We know Aitzaz Ahsan can not back out. Why? Because he is working on an Indian agenda. He is also working for the Sharif brothers who have also invested heavily in him.

The Childish Revenge Of Sharif Brothers

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—If one has all the recordings of events where these brothers spoke, in each event they have spoken nothing but revenge against Musharraf.
There is a difference between bind hate and honest criticism. Blind hate leads to blind stupidity and this is exactly what we are seeing in Pakistan. I have not heard them talk about the poor of Pakistan. I think they both should be investigated for destabilizing Pakistan for personal revenge.
Up till now Nawaz Sharif is worried about his own grudges and not about Pakistan or the people of Pakistan. There is so much talk that Aitzaz Ahsan and many lawyers are funded by Nawaz Sharif and Co. These brothers are becoming so frustrated that Pakistan’s interest does not appear to be their first priority anymore. The more they see Musharraf’s confidence the more they get frustrated. It seems like their father was the one who kept them in control. Today he is not around and these brothers have no more parental guidance. This revenge must stop now.
