I didnt know who she is so I went googling. It sounds like she went to med school because this was what her parents demanded of her. This was not something that she chose to undertake. But it apprently gave her a springboard to do something that she truly loves to do. I have to admire her for that. And critisize parents for forcing their kids into things that arent appropriate - whether its marriage or career.
Annoying or not, this woman is one who knows what she wants and worked hard to get it. You gotta love that.
As far as wasting a med school spot, esp when pak is in such need of female docs...well this comes back again to the parents who force their girls there while knowing full well that they will never practice. The girls typically obey their parents yeah? Whether its mariiage or college. THAT has to change.
If the poor thing was forced into it, and doesn't really care for it, why does she still insist on being called Dr. Shaista whatever-her-last-name-is?
Then don't address her by that title!
