Double Whammy

Any one who is sensitive to straight talk and cannot handle political incorrectness needs to stay away from this thread. You have been warned.

So here are the double whammy or 2 for 2 situations:
Being

  1. Gay and Black.
  2. Woman and Black.
*]Minority (other than black) and gay/lesbian.
In a work place these people get away with a lot of stuff, while others are held to a higher standard. Furthermore, it is almost impossible to fire them no matter how incompetent they are, because you know they will be filing a lawsuit. This political b-crap correctness has to stop.

Re: Double Whammy

Yes, we need to take advantage of every breathing soul like true Pakis.

Re: Double Whammy

Wait so if I slack off and get fired, I can sue and destroy the company I work for. Sweet! I think I'll have a meeting with my boss today...........

Re: Double Whammy

ahmadjee, you cannot tell me that these folks do not take advantage of their situation. In my experience 90% of them do. It hurts the morale of the company and creates double standard...do I need to state how wrong that is?

Re: Double Whammy

Let us know how it goes :)

Re: Double Whammy

If you are looking for political incorrectness, the categories above are still treated as second class citizens. If they are using this to their advantage in a politically correct world then it is hard to complain about it.

Re: Double Whammy

Yes, the law does nothing to protect exceptionally attractive middle-aged Gora men like me.... Pretty much sucks....

Re: Double Whammy

Broad generalizations and stereotypes does not equal political incorrectness.

90% of these people take advantage of their situation? Do I need to state how wrong that is? That is a ridiculous statement.

Re: Double Whammy

If you want to talk about affirmative action, that will be a reasonable discussion.

To talk about a hypothetical black woman who is lesbian (talk about triple whammy), gets fired and then decides to sue on discrimination ground is too abstract for me. I am sure it happens, but I just can't relate to this issue either as a co-worker or as an employer.

Re: Double Whammy

I don't know why it is so abstract for you Faisal, 90% of them are doing it.

Re: Double Whammy

Ok our resident Mr. Morally and Politically correct Seminole, (Faisal pay attention), let me relate the story of this "abstract" concept. In my college days, I used to work at the front desk of the college dormitory. Our supervisor was a black lesbian woman, who openly challenged authority and always followed her tirades with "What are they going to do? Fire me. I am black and lesbian. I want to see them try it. I will clean them out". I have seen other gays in the office environment with same attitude. I have seen desi's droop down to this level to save their skins. It happens and moral police will like us to look the other way..

A lot of you may think that OG is joking, however, there is a lot of truth to OG's statement. (not the attractive part).

Re: Double Whammy

well filing these cases wont gonna create ny difference....do u have ny solid proof to backup ur 90% figure? (it will b great if u mention few scenarioz, with year n 0000 end result)

Re: Double Whammy

^ yeah, you tell him Zobia (Seminole this is me :D)

Re: Double Whammy

kaleem bhaijaan, we’re not interested in what’s in your experience. We’re more interested in some unbiased and more objective study done on the matter and results as of such statistics. You should have done a google search before starting this thread. But it’s not late you can do now to get more close to the fact. :hoonh:

Re: Double Whammy

Kaleem, I have no doubt you had that experience in college or 'have seen other gays' with the same attitude. I have witnessed similar situations with minorities. The diffrence between you and me is that I don't extrapolate that to say 90% of them do it.

I bet I know a lot more gays than you do, and in my experience I have NOT met even ONE with this attitude.

Re: Double Whammy

Roman, why is it wrong to share you experiences? After all those numbers you are clamoring for come from folks like us...so be a good sport and share your life.. err your double whammy stories.

Re: Double Whammy

I think its fine to start a discussion based on personal experiences, and its ok (though not preferred) to put out statistics (like 90%) without any basis, simply to make a point. After all, most people generally discount such out of whack statistics anyway. What I am not sure is what do you want to discuss: That the big bad lesbian black woman in Kaleem's college days was a dirtbag who was there to screw the organization that was feeding her? I mean, I can see how some people think affirmative action is past its due date and should be reverted to full merit based system; and I can see how some people will get offended at the extra length law goes to protect the perceived injustices over the minorities, but short of comprehensive tort reform or repeal of Section X (or whatever section it is that talks about EOE and discrimination), I am not sure what you want to discuss. You remove barriers on discrimination and next thing you know your neighbors in the nice white neighborhood of Houston that you live in may petition you to be kicked out of the neighborhood solely because you are a bonafide brown; or the car salesman at the Chevy dealership doesn't want to sell you the new Silvarado you want. Hypothetically speaking, of course.

Re: Double Whammy

I have a friend who used to work as a cx support agent, so he made a remark about the trans that was sitting beside him. He got a warning from the office and was told to not tell anyone about this. What does he do? He goes back and tells everyone. He gets fired. LOL

Re: Double Whammy

kaleem, why would we be interested in your experiences while our own experiences are far more beautiful and exciting?

Re: Double Whammy

I worked for a large publicly traded comapny in the '90s. I was good friends with the legal department folks, and we started talking about what they pay. When a minority or a woman was fired, and they retained a lawyer our legal department would automatically figure on paying $5k to 10k per case to defend the case. If they could settle the case for less than that it was a victory. The facts did not matter, anybody who was willing to retain a lawyer pretty much got paid off.
