Sounds more like a business arrangement than a marriage. This is why I've always been opposed to the whole idea of a prenup. I also think the mehr is a bit steep. If this makes you feel uncomfortable now, imagine what it will be like in the future, especially if she keeps bringing it up. Tsk.

The reason why i am posting this is because i want to know is this typical among desis? Thsi is how they defined me.

I am pretty sure you are a smart person Dope. This will be the decision that might alter the rest of your life. if you are having second thoughts about this marriage....then go with the SECOND thought. And make it a quick second thought and decison.
If you go with the marriage then later you might be posting on GS and saying that " I shoud've listened to the more experienced opionions on GS."

Fayax: was strictly arranged, except that i have been talking to her for the past two months. somewhat romantically hot and heavy.
Kaleem: easier said than done. All my rishtas fall apart like this. Even I am beginning to doubt myself and starting to think i should find my own girl.
MQ: I dont actually want her money and believe i can make enough of my own, but i somehow think that nothing that i do will be enuff for her. and more importantly, what scares me more is her parents' interference in all spheres of her life. If thsi continues well after the marriage, we will definteily have a problem.

Seriously though, she is not even such a looker but I thought she had an amazing personality. For some reason, I think i am obsolete because i am completely incapable of meeting girls on my own. Religion is part of the reason too. So, I am limited by the ones my parents bring around for rishta purposes.

Dope, this is the first time I'm hearing about a pre-nup in a desi, muslim rishta. It seems like there are A LOT of conditions to this marriage. If you are having any doubts, read salat-ul istikhara.

So you are marrying her because she is filthy rich. Seems like that is the only reason as you have only known her for 2 miniscule months. I say delay the marriage until end of the year or next year and let more true colors shine thru :k:
