Rasme duniya bhi hai dastoor bhi hai & mauqa bhi hai
Its among so called ‘rasam’ which is different from one culture to another .I have seen this so i m aware of it .Its taking milk (which represent good nutritious diet 0 on the night of marriage .I am more familiar with the rasm in movie DDLJ,& Hum aap ke hai kaun ,b/c i have seen most of what they show in them
I think it is exchange of teaspoonfull of milk between husband & wife .
First using same spoon assures you would be pretty close & comfortable doing it ,some reassurance to both. Also each signals determination to look after each other hunger ,diet & nutrition is one of the most essntial of them

Woh afsaana jise anjaam tak, laana na ho mumkin
Use ek KHoobsoorat moR dekar, chhoRna achha
Ever tried Oysters?
Dates?
Dryfruits?
All of them above are high in protein and carbohydrates so it creates a lot of energy.
Same goes for this doodh rasam. First time should be the best time ever.

doodh on shadi night?
The only thing Ive seen/heard regarding doodh is the "doodh pilai", where a bunch of girls from the bride's side offer a glass of milk to the groom...and once the groom takes a sip, they demand money from him, which is known as "doodh pilai". Never heard of drinking milk at night...unless it was chocolate milk
mera khayal hai ‘doodh’ sirf un dulhon ke liey rakha jata hoga jinki ‘sayhut’ mashkooQ hoti hogi…kahin aisa na ho kaka ander jaye te tain-tain-fish…doodh thora hosla dene ke liey hoga…
baQi aur info ke liey fata fut kisi naye-naye-dulha ka bandobust kerin te full info hasil kerin…

Yeah you are very right Akif. I think its a hindu “rasam” and dealed as a tradition. Why and whats the use of it. I dont know either.
To be honest almost every single bit of “shaadi ki rasam” is adopted from our indian friends

I am myself a dream :)
I always see you

There are a lot of rasams involving 'doodh'
which one are you after
There is the doodh pilai
where there is this chandi ka glass filled with milk with badaam and pistas
the bride's parents do the rasam
first the bride is made to sip the from the glass and then the glass is given to the groom and he has to drink it
Then there is this pair dhulai
The nand of the bride washes the feet of the bride with milk before she goes to her room
k the list goes on and on
basically there is no such thing as a hindu or a muslim rasam
rasams are rasams and people do it for fun
Fun is fine. But i know that some people are supersticious about these things. That is wrong.

Not related to this subject....but for people that are against the very existence of this section of the forum, Dervaish and Kaka seem to participate here a lot.
