Don’t we all “judge” when we form an opinion on a person, matter, situation, preference?

the ability to judge is a God given tool to make decisions in life...one needs this ability...some are better than the others...i call it 'instinct'.

we, like it or not, judge each other at all times and it's ok with me...!!!

or a 35+ yr old woman trying to act like a teenager saying this to her girlfrands?

when people say “dont judge me” usually i take that to mean they’re joking, because who are they kidding when saying that? ofcourse you’re going to get judged, i’ll judge you and you will judge me. :vivo:

I readily admit I judge people...who doesn't? We form judgements within our heads based on how people dress, speak, act etc. Those of us who have formed friendships with people on or off this forum did so based on our judgements of the personality showed through posts. I think the negative connotation of "judgey-pan" comes when a person is hard lined in their views or makes others feel bad about themselves? Or maybe self insecurities are also at play and that's what makes someone feel like they are being "judged"?

If I say don't judge me I would mean don't make any opinion about me due to certain act of mine without knowing the circumstances/context in which I performed that act.

I think we might need to understand connotations of certain phrases/words instead of literal meaning to better understand them.

Muzna, I think I started an almost identical thread last year.

I don't understand this either. Our brains function. They make judgements constantly We decide what we like and dislike, etc. The problem comes when you are forcing your opinions on others or using those opinions to hurt others. Otherwise, I think we are all entitled to our judgements as they reflect the way we live life and see the world.

Yep, we all do it...we just don't like to be on the receiving end of it. I think the more you care about a person, the more you fear their judgment.
