Re: Doing Worst Like Jamaat-e-Islami
If the maulvi in question had truly good intentions, I'd think he would be preaching education rather than hatred, violence and conspiracy theories. Like another stated above, its the World Health Org. that is trying to eradicate dangerous diseases from the planet, NOT the all-evil USA. So why not tell people to find out WHERE the innoculations were manufactured, have random samples tested, find out about what disease each innoculation could prevent?
Rather, he tells people that to die from plague is cause for martyrdom. Do you pro-maulvis agree with this?
Polio was ALMOST eradicated from the planet. Pakistan is one of the only countries on the face of the earth thats keeping this horrible disease alive.
Thats one of the reasons we didnt go over there when our boys were babies. Before their innoculations were complete. Id never chance exposing them to things that could mar them for life, cripple them, make them impotent or kill them. All, of course, easily preventable due to the Allah/God given brains we have that allowed us to develop the means and methods to prevent them.
Really. I want to know from you pro-maulvis YOUR take on this maulvi, do you truly agree with the words that come out of his mouth?
Re: Doing Worst Like Jamaat-e-Islami
Its your Allah's oder that I do not get hidya! Since not a single leaf can move without his consent in this world! So its His will that I remain in darkness!
am sorry for debating with u, Quran tells me that when someone like u says something, the answer shud be nothing more than "salam"....
so excuse me....
salam :)

for me this thread is not about polio....
Re: Doing Worst Like Jamaat-e-Islami
^lol!
Mr A, it seem that "for you", this thread is about avoidance. (see your response #56). And please, I would love to see your response to the questions I posed in #83....
Re: Doing Worst Like Jamaat-e-Islami
Surprisingly, both the posters who are in favor of this mumbo jumbo guy are avoiding/dodging a direct questions posted to them.

Bravo Mama.
That's precisely the problem I have with this man. It wouldn't matter if he had a beard or not, but he is not "educating" the masses, rather he's spreading fear and doubt in people who probably don't know any better. Because they would rather trust a man who appears religious and holy.
Re: Doing Worst Like Jamaat-e-Islami
For me this thread is about an ignorant and selfish man who preaches hatred and violence going up against an organization that saves millions of lives - whether they be Muslims, Christians, black, white, atheist, poor, men, women or children.
One represents darkness, the other light.

The West hates Islam and those who concur to Islamic values have every right to hate the West as the values contradict each other...

Hate is a very strong word. We may disagree with each other... we should not "hate" each other... Saying "they hate us, so we can hate them back" is not a good way to think. So many say "kill them with kindness" when it comes to awful MIL's and whatnot- how about try the same thing with others?
I find the unwillingness to to understand one another that is sometimes demonstrated here (on both sides) to be very sad.

If the Americans had truly good intentions, Bush would have been voted out of the office Mo3...But it seems hatred, violence and conspiracy theories do work...Otherwise more than a million people would not be dead or dying in Iraq...
Re: Doing Worst Like Jamaat-e-Islami
Very good response…It wasn’t chemicals the blankets were laced with rather diseases such as smallpox, hepatitis and malaria to which the native Americans had no immunity…
Can you believe it? Can you imagine a Muslim doing such a thing?
“Hey, how are ya? I come from a land far away and we bring you gifts as a token of our friendship and goodwill…Some blankets for you and your family…No need to thank us…We are just good people who wish to see our fellow man be happy…Joy to the world and goodwill to men, that’s our way…So here, take these blankets and give them to your tribesmen…”
2 months later every person in that tribe is dead due to malaria…Great…
I went to the original threadstarter’s site…Well, her symbol of freedom is the statue of liberty and her ideal is the wife of the butcher of millions…So I can only imagine her idea of ‘freedom’ for women would stem from the same mentality that can call Ariel Sharon as a man of peace, the same man who butchered 3,000 innocent refugees, men, women and children, in the town of Sabra and Shatila…
So judging from her views and from where they stem from, her idea of freedom for women stems from skewed politics…
Which reminds me of the history of the Arabian horse…
Legend has it, that the Holy Prophet :saw: wanted to introduce discipline in the horses of his army and only the best and toughest stock of horses could fulfil the required discipline required of such rigorous training…
For months the horses were trained and disciplined to stop immediately to be saddled and bridled at the sound of a horn…
After months, the time had come to see what breed of horses would respond best to the training received…
To test the horses, the horses were all tied to trees near a river and given salt with their food to induce thirst…After about three or four days of being deprived of water, the horses were crazed with thirst, tugging at their bridles to be released for a drink of water from the river…
All the riders of their respective horses were ordered to stand by their horse and to release them at a command…The command was given and the horses released all at once…
All the horses made a mad dash towards the river to quench their thirst and the second command was to sound the horn…
Except for 5 or 6 horses, every horse kept going for the river…These 5 or 6 horses were the ones who stopped mid track, despite their thirst…
The Arabian breed of horses, which are the toughest, fastest, smartest and the most expensive of all horse breeds stem from these 5 or 6 horses…
Humans are no different…Their mentality makes them seek the path of least resistance and to cave in to desires and throw training and obedience to the wind…
The original threadstarter is at no fault to espouse views that offer the path of least resistance i.e. blame the Mullahs by throwing previous experiences and expectations to the wind…
‘Freedom’ for women as espoused by her likes constitutes ‘freedom’ as given to the women of the west which me represent a heinous torture of women psychologically as well as physically, where they are subjected to such inhumane treatment that they have to abandon all their femininity and innocence to subscribe to the man’s world…They are left to fend for themselves without family or espousal support and becomes tools for the pleasure of men…And in case she is not gifted with looks, she can’t even hope to achieve anything, even promiscuous pleasure…
I wouldn’t imagine having my mother, sister, daughter or wife be subjected to the humiliating, degrading and vile system of ‘freedom’ the original threadstarter espouses…
I don’t claim descent from the human equivalent of the Arabian horse, far from it, I might be someone who rushes to the river first, but I would hesitate…Even if for a moment…
Re: Doing Worst Like Jamaat-e-Islami
^ Ditto!
Also, if I am okay with the western media showing a bearded man on a horse having a sword in his one hand and an Islamic flag in the other, every time they talk about Islam or Muslims to no-brainer American public, then I CERTAINLY SHOULD NOT HAVE any irritation with a maulvi expressing his feelings towards what he thinks the evil is, to the public at his home. Freedom of speech should be enjoyed everywhere!
I can never understand why are WESTERNERS (that includes all races) so concerned about what goes on in Pakistan. In our very own United States, the abortion, teenage pregnancy, gay marriage, unemployment, and many much more immoral things rates are already on a hike and Democrats and Republicans (along with churches) are throwing much dirt and hatred comments on each other ...Why don’t Americans just take care of the fire at their home first then show their concerns about the neighbors’ house... OR if it is just too hard to do, then instead of rearing and feeding their German Shepherd or Chow Chow for $200-300 a month, why don’t they rear and feed a needy family over there....Now how would that be????:)
Why CAN’T they be a LEADER, and NOT a WHINER?
Re: Doing Worst Like Jamaat-e-Islami
Hyperactive & Conservative, I cant begin to imagine the place that you describe...are you referring to israel or usa? If so, its really obvious that you have no knowledge of life in either place.
Anyway, yes absolutely you're right about the freedom of speech issue. That maulvi should be free to spout whatever backwards ideas he wants to. The SAD part is that people follow him so adherently and that EVEN THE EDUCATED pakistanis will stand behind him before they'll admit that one of "their own" may have evil intentions or may be too ignorant or may be misleading his people.
When there are ignorant preachers in USA like those really loud-n-popular southern baptist types, they can and have said some pretty ignorant things. But - in the big difference here - the US media AND the people ridicule them publicly to the point that they either shut up and crawl back under their rock or they end up publicly apologizing for their ignorance and stupidity.
So sad that when it happens in pakiland, people do nothing but defenddefenddefend, denydenydeny.
Can ANY of you publicly AGREE with the things being preached by this maulvi????
Thats the question of the day, one which has been avoided at all costs by each and every one of the "defenders". I mean personally I could care less WHAT he says...at least until he affects global attempts to eradicate crippling childhood disease. That affects each and every single one of us.

2 things,
1) plenty of people publically disagree with such folks just scroll back in the tread and read the responses..my family track record in US is that we have had 3 idiot mullahs sent packing to go back to their homelands. One is suing us but such is life. You can go and see other threads including the ones about the madrisa students actions that you can see plenty of people publically disagree, and its not just us anonymous folks on a bulletin board, but journalists, religious scholars, ordinary citizens.
2) on the topic of idiots in US, its not quite as simple as you think, after all we have morons who have their own TV channels like 666 club...oops I mean 700 club. Other assorted folks like Frank Graham/Billy Graham etc as well. The fall of these ppl is usually when their true self comes to light as in the case of Jimmy "the devil made me do it" swaggert, of Jim "hanky panky" Baker etc. I for one have not seen much open protest against such folks, however, they are ginored by the people eho dont agree with their brand of hatred. Same is the case with the rabid mullahs, majority of people ignore them.
Re: Doing Worst Like Jamaat-e-Islami
Mr fraudia, yes I know that most folks here (and most everywhere actually) agree that the maulvi in question is a jerk (to put it bluntly). The bee thats buzzing in my bonnet over this whole thing is the maulvi's ability to persuade "his people" to avoid WHO innoculations - because "to suffer from a plague is to become a martyr". WTF is THAT and where in the Koran can you find direction like this???
As far as the ignorant southern baptist preachers ... well they're seen, reported on and viewed as ignoramus gigante at least for the most part when they come out with ignorant statements like mr maulvi....Jimmy swaggart may still have some sorry-case followers but is for the most part a sad and sorry joke to the vast majority of americans. Not that it matters I mean he can do whatever he wants as long as it doesnt affect the life of others - especially children yeah? I mean, YOU personally agree with innoculations? and the ideal of eradicating diseases like polio? Mr maulvi thinks that you should just face it with bravery and hope for martyrdom.....
And the desis who KNOW BETTER that actually stand behind him - simply cause he's a desi - well that really makes me burn. Just review and see how the "supporters" avoid the direct questions by dredging up every and any argument they can. I've seen this so many times and in so many cases that I tend to think its almost a cultural tendency which is truly sad.
Re: Doing Worst Like Jamaat-e-Islami
you have to see his followers to understand why they take his word. This is a huge problem, especially in rural areas where uneducated illiterate types turn to their local mullah for direction on all issues, and who are these mullahs, barely educated people who have received the same indoctrinaton from other barely educated folks so that trend continues. so he has his half baked ideas and is sharing that as a matter of faith..and scaring ppl that their peepee would stop working.
the point about noting idiots like pat robertson, swaggert, baker and garaham was that they have huge followings, who was the idiot who said that if he did not get enough funds raised by a certain time, he will die and that god told him that. Morons from across teh country donated big time. so while they may get blasted by people when they say something completely outlandish, the fact remains that they still have followers who just hang on to them. And this is in a nation with a high education rate, media, information and all at anyone's fingertips. if you tune into the 666 club, i mean 700 club, pretty much everytime I have tuned on there is sometng completely moronic being said, but I guess enough people buy that manure that patty boy is able to run a Tv network.
and as far as some desis standing behind him because he is desi, that is wrong, but no different than americans not faulting bush just because he is american. If you recall the debates during pre Iraq war, you would see exactly the same thing, even on this discussion forum. basically goes to prove..people are people. all types in all areas.
Re: Doing Worst Like Jamaat-e-Islami
Personally, i fault bush cause he's an idiot plain and simple. but thats beside the point here methinks....we're talking about some guy affecting the outcome of disease in his area of the planet and letting the disease live and thrive when it could easily be eradicated.....
why cant we talk about THAT without bringing in american history, american indians, gulf war? its about a MAULVI in PAK who is doing BAD things for kids....yeah? Why does this whole dam thing have to devolve into evil americans?
My point seems so very simple to me yet its gone on and on for 4 pages now without the maulvi-supporters answering questions directly posed to them.
Just burns me up.
Re: Doing Worst Like Jamaat-e-Islami
Dear Mamaof3, US media is way more than telecasting "desperate housewives" and "Gilmore girls." Watch more news channels and talk shows and you will know what I am talking about. My problem is that I can't ignore the way hatred and misconceptions are delivered wrapped with the sweet flavors of apologies and concerns, and I certainly AIN'T living in the fools’ paradise.
About the question you asked about agreeing or disagreeing, I NEVER knew that "I" was supposed to answer it, since no where in my posts i said that I favor every single thing that that maulvi blurts out of his mouth. Anyway, now that you asked me let me tell you one thing... for me, if he says anything that is supported by Quran and Hadith, I will agree to it without further questioning it. To elaborate, if he says that don't school your girls, I cannot see where is this idea coming from...in fact educating both men and women is appreciated in Islam. But, if he says don't send your boys and girls to a coeducation institute I can see his reasoning…. Do I need to start on this one too????
Over the issue of polio vaccines, again, I never said that I am against them, nor did I support what Mr. Whoever Mullah said. The only point that I raised was that there are doubts, in fact laboratory findings, about the un-authenticity of vaccines and “EDUCATED” people, just like that “UNEDUCATED” mullah, say ten thousand things against the vaccines and the whole WHO and government involvement … However, WHAT IS AMAZING to see is that when a mullah says something against US he is spreading hatred…when the educated ones throw trash on the US government we call it an educational take and dance off to the freedom of speech part of the Constitution… I mean HOW HYPOCRITICAL….
You know what I have real problem with??? I have problem with the people that just pop up like a jack-out-of-the-box in every thread where Pakistan, Islam, Muslims, or ALL Maulvis are being stereotyped and bashed off by an ignorant threadstarter, and then pitch in about the issue based on their OWN LAME ASSUMPTIONS, WHAT MEDIA SAYS and their SECOND/THIRD-HAND EXPERIENCES.
But I should salute Americans for their concerns about other nations, ESPECIALLY MUSLIM and PAKISTAN in particular, while their own country is facing more immoral issues. I think it’s more fun and less work to point you fingers on the evil of others, of Muslims in particular, than to straighten your own sticks first… Speaking of which, since Mamaof3 you look the most concerned one about the global kids and poor and uneducated people in Pakistan, let me ask you a couple of everyday life questions:
Do you own a dog like 75 % of concerned Americans???
Do you favor abortion???
Do you and/or your kids wear designers clothing???
Re: Doing Worst Like Jamaat-e-Islami
Since direct questions were posed, here are my responses....
Yes I own 2 dogs. AND a cat.
No, I do NOT favor abortion although I think it should be available to those who WANT one.
No, I do NOT, nor does my husband, nor do my children, wear designer clothing. We shop at k-mart and target.
You may also be interested to know that we have spent more (much more) on supporting victims of the earthquake over in pak than we have spent in the last 5 years on our beloved pets. We also have supported a beautiful little boy who was a servant over there.
Not that ANY of these answers has any bearing whatsoever on a maulvi doing evil things for the future of poor unsuspecting children over there.
and ps my husband has a good friend in Swat where this maulvi is operating and he has expressed his concern and has looked into fm-radio wave blocking. Its NOT a joke, its not the all-evil amrikaan looking to bash desi-land. I would LOVE to see pakistan thrive. Maulvi-types will prevent this.
