In Pakistan we have many obstacles in the development of educated and modern Pakistan but the top most are the religious parties who are using religion as a weapon. Qazi Hussain Ahmed of Jamaat-e-Islami is already making us non-tolerated towards other religions other then Islam, but now we have one another leader who is using religion in a different way to attract the innocent, illiterate people of Pakistan, his name is Maulana Fazlullah whose movement is calledTehrik Nifaz-i-Shariah Mohammadi. He’s son-in-law of
Tehrik Nifaz-i-Shariah Mohammadi’s chief Maulana Sufi Mohammad and heading the party’s Swat chapter.
Maulana Fazlullah is worst as Qazi Hussain of Jamaat-e-Islami; the only difference is the way of making fool innocent peoples. This
Maulana comes on horse for weekly sermon, which is full of extremism and against the west culture, especially United States of America. He
uses FM radio station for his propaganda to spreading Taliban kind of Islam, and as usual our illiterate citizens are following his preaching blindly.
Maulana Fazlullah’s first targets are not other than women of Pakistan because these all Maulanas think that every wrong thing will start from women, not men. So his men followers stopped their daughters
from going to schools. His supporters have also started riding horses and sprouting beards.
As a Pakistani this is our duty to stop these kinds of Islamic terrorists and save our future generation, and if we failed then I will assure you that our future will be dark.
The real problem is not them
its the ever growing jihalat of the masses that is the real issue
and the gap will become wider as we are not taking any concrete steps to educated the masses - and the population is growing exponentially
Very soon the majority of the population will be those who cant even write their names or read
How come one guy starts preaching ala bala and in no time has a following of thousand of people
you cant call some one a terrorist if you find them ignorant or arrogant. Dont know much about the character you are speaking of but from your post ‘terrorist’ seems a little over the top.
err can we have some reference to see if wot u claim is true? I am no fan of mullahs’ but lets not jump on the condemnation bandwagon untill we have some reason to condemn this dude.
Ever increasing population is probably behind this! When people have large family and they can not feed them properly, they send their kids to these islamic school where they are boarded free of cost with free foods!
The other day I saw an 8 year old boy hanging on the wall of a park in my area and looking onward to coming vans! While I passed this boy, he called me and asked me "uncle kya meray abboo aaj mujhay lenay aaegay". Upon enquiry he told me that he was a student at a local maderrssa where he lived and studied. He was quite unhappy living over there and told me that he wanted to go back home and live with his brothers and sisters.
the problem is not the religious people, it is people who write "X is worst as Y" and think they have the right to talk about education....
bibi jee jab angrezi nahin aati to seedhi urdu me baat karo na, why embarass yourself with tooti phooti english....
Atleast shes putting forth a decent effort... and speaking of 'angreji', did you even bother to check yours before lamenting hers? Mr. X is worst as Y?
i think i know exactly who you are speaking of here…I have read of him with growing sadness and distress…here is just one story… http://www.dawn.com/2006/12/01/local30.htm
he thinks that a polio vaccine is some kind of western conspiracy and thus strongly discourages it for children. He gets the people all riled with hatred for the west and blames every ill in his country on the west. And people follow him.
armughal, this guy that you're supporting is calling for an end to polio vaccines and is responsible for a huge number of kids in NWFP not getting these vaccines.
pcg, i have a feeling that he's more than a few years away from thinking about conceiving.....thats a mean thing to say for sure but well there it is and even though its mean, the words written by him are by all evidence either the words of the very very young or the very very uneducated.
So mr armagugal, I apologize somewhat for my (apparent) rudeness but am asking you - WOULD you vaccinate your children for polio?

The Polio Vaccine itself has few and insignificant side effects but people are worried that the vaccine is being shipped spiked with the ' oestrogen ' hormone to lower fertility, some people even suspect HIV.
I would think they are being safe rather than being sorry.
There are plenty of articles on the net about this.
The polio reference reminds me of the time when plague hit India in the late 1800s. At the time the great Mullahs of the day decided to issue a fatwa against the vaccine of the time for Plague.
They not only went on to say that it is haram but some of them even asserted that those who will take the vaccine will have their marriage annulled. i.e. Nikka toot jayay ga.

Did YOU get vaccinated for Polio when you were a kid?
Have your kids been vaccinated? When you plan on having kids, will you vaccinate them (if you don't have children yet)?

You know, its amazing how much stupidity there is. Interestingly, I am wondering if a lot of muslims buy into this theory, but are only opening their mouths about it online (because they don't want face-to-face confrontation on the topic)
