Daddyof2s thread about his dog not being able to siht got me thinking on my dog phobia. There arent many things who scare me and dogs top the list. I don’t know why but I have this fear of them. Normally when I’m walking and on the other side there is someone walking with his/her dog, I change my path or start walking the other direction. And hell I know some people who are close to their dogs that they are pretty much doing freedom kissing with them to show their affection.

The amusing thing is that dog owners just can't understand why people are shying away or look so utterly fearful when they see their dog coming their way. They think their dog is the friendliest (or atleast very well trained) dog in the world and there is no reason why anyone should be afraid of them. And when someone just starts jumping here and there to avoid the dog, it statles the dog as well, so atleast try to keep calm and let the owner get the dog under control.
Also, some dogs are inherently friendly and will want to get close to you and lick you. Generally, the owners should keep the dog under leash and make sure the dogs don't go around licking other people, especially if the other person is white with fear, but here is a handy tip, and always remember it. If you are just trying to act brave in front of a dog (for whatever reason) and stretch your arm for the dog to lick the fingers, make sure you have the fingers clenched in a punch style, and not with the fingers straight open. When the hand is offered as a punch, the dog knows it is just for licking; however, if you offer your hand with fingers open, a dog may take a bite to check it out. Well-trained dogs aren't likely to make this mistake, but phir bhi, ye asool pallay baandh lein aap. Allah negehbaan.
