Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
Why is everyone so bent on proving this a sexual issue? :D

Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
Any kind of hitting is DA and he is responsible for injuring her. If she was driving him insane with verbal abuse , he had the choice to walk out to let her cool down and to diffuse the situation. She might be lashing out verbal abuse on him in which case she is responsible for verbal abuse. But when he hit her then he is equally responsible.
Easier said than done.
I have seen women i emergency deptt giving nangi galiyan to their husbands, or saying things that if anyone said to anyone it will lead to physical violence.

May be I have lived in the West long enough that is why I do not condone any kind of physical violence other than for self defense. To me even nangi galiyan cannot justify violence. If other person is man enough then he will have enough strength in his legs to walk away from the situation and deal with it later in some rational and legal way.
Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
Domestic violence is what one believes it to be.......its not hard to have evidence (if required)...just bang your head on something...there you got a concussion/scar to 'show evidence' of domestic violence..
..........
Are you talking about faking an abuse. That is quite possible too.
Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
wow the turn this thread has taken.
So if you get few bruises but you still feel safe, it should not be understood as domestic violence?
You know that's an excellent question you brought up and I am not quite sure. Domestic violence is used to dominate and gain control over the partner. In the case you described it doesn't quite sound like that was the motive. It is still wrong for the husband to get physical though. The wife probably knows her husband better to determine if this is bound to happen again or not.
Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
bottom line is...an adult willfully hitting another adult [other than self defense] is an abuse and constitutes violence
Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?

yes....but that i said alongwith the fact whether one considers it abuse in his/her mind or not.....evidence is a secondary matter (hence the faking of abuse)..
Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
yes
Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
Few nail scratches on a man or a woman's neck and chest and a small cut on your lip that causes bit of swelling and bit of blood?
Depends on how they got there.
Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
nah! …could be they’re into rough sex. ![]()
Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
didn’t benazir bhutto go through domestic violence too with zardari, that was what i read a while back but she stayed in such a relationship. a powerful woman like her never left an abusive man like him, i wonder why…?
um that would explain the nail marks definitely but the swollen bleeding lip doesn’t look like it’s just rough kissing
