It definitely comes under domestic violence , but even if its a mental torture then still its a domestic violence . Btw it can be from both sides .

I don't think there is a threshold that let's you determine if a violent act falls under domestic violence or not. I would assume any time a spouse feels unsafe would be enough to say they are subject to domestic violence since even mental torture is considered domestic violence.

Not sure where you got that idea from but if you do a search on Yahoo or Google, you’ll realize that you’re completely wrong. Below is a definition for “domestic violence” that I took from http://www.domesticviolence.org/definition/

So if you get few bruises but you still feel safe, it should not be understood as domestic violence?

This is domestic violence, its violent, and its within the household, hence the term. forget the oxford dictionary definition, violence is violence. end of. if my husband slapped me, i would use that term for what he did, although nothing is broken. once violence enters a relationship, all respect is out the window. who hits someone they have respect for? would this supposed person ever hit their mum this way?

There is no "more" wrong. They're both wrong.
Let's put it this way....if you murder someone by putting a bullet to their head and killing them immediately, is that any better than stabbing someone and letting them bleed to death? Who's "more wrong" in that case? It's still murder regardless of how you do it...and it's wrong.
