Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
Few nail scratches on a man or a woman's neck and chest and a small cut on your lip that causes bit of swelling and bit of blood?
Either domestic abuse, or they are into some wild stuff.

Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
OK HAREEM, i guess your dad hitting your mum, his spouse, is BETTER than your dad hitting his own mum?,
Why are you bringing my mom and dad in this? Are you crazy? damn it! why can't you women have an argument without being civilized?
Let me put it this way, perhaps you'll get it "it's worse to hit your father than to hit your husband".
you know what, it hurts more when your son hits you.

it was about a family friend but since this thread has gone nuts i wouldn’t bother asking anymore questions.

Wise choice on your part.

Yes and no. Depends how it happened. There are few who might just be kinky and things went a little far.

Stop jumping up and down. I never said "it's okay when nadz123 gets beats from her husband".
PS:i give a damn about your government.

Oh! It wasn't? :)
Then yes. Quite possible.
Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
Guys grow up. Hareem never said that its ok to hit mom or wife. She just said that if a guy is hitting is his mom than he has deeper issues than just domestic violence. So grow up and don't make a fuss out of something that its not.
Hareem what diwana was trying to say that if scratches happen due to some intimacy then its not domestic violence otherwise it is.
Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
Before jumping to some conclusion make sure that those husband and wife are not into BDSM.
Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
Domestic violence is what one believes it to be.......its not hard to have evidence (if required)...just bang your head on something...there you got a concussion/scar to 'show evidence' of domestic violence..
its all in the head.......getting hit (and hitting back) occasionally might be fine for someone.....
and it might be like the worse crime ever for another person.......depends really

Thank you.
What happened was that the woman said things and the man when couldn't bear any longer, he hit her causing very little injuries, so I was wondering if this is domestic violence or not? And who is more responsible for this?

Thank you.

Any kind of hitting is DA and he is responsible for injuring her. If she was driving him insane with verbal abuse , he had the choice to walk out to let her cool down and to diffuse the situation. She might be lashing out verbal abuse on him in which case she is responsible for verbal abuse. But when he hit her then he is equally responsible.

Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
just compare a person who hit his mum to a person who hit his wife, but probably you haven't even came across such people in real life yet.
How do you know that I haven't come across such people in my life? Do you know my personal life experiences? My educational background? Or what I do for a living? For all you know....maybe I deal with this on a daily basis. Point being....don't *assume" what I have or have not encountered in life.
There is no "justification" for violence. Whether the violence is against the mother, father, wife, husband, son, daughter, neighbor etc......violence is violence. If a child abuses a cat or some other random animal, a lot of people dismiss it b/c they're abusing animals and not humans. Well guess what...if you study the background of most serial killers, most of them have a history of abusing animals. My point is that its a proven fact that people who abuse animals generally escalate that violence to humans. Similarly...if a man can not control his anger when it comes to his wife, then there is a good possibility that he MIGHT not be able to control his anger when it comes to his mother or his daughter or other people.
If I found out that my SO is abusive towards someone else, then I would not feel safe with him. B/C as I mentioned, if he's not capable of controlling his emotions/anger with someone else, then what guarantee is there that someday, he will not lose that control with me? Similarly....if in the future, I find out that my son abused his wife, similarly I would also be afraid of him.
Bottom line...violence is wrong. It's not "less worse" to abuse your wife compared to mother. The "title" of the person being abused is of no importance. Father, mother, husband, wife, son, daughter, co-worker, neighbor, servant, boss......whatever......regardless of the "title" the person holds in the abuser's life, at the end of the day, it is WRONG to abuse them.
Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
^thanks for your input.
i know it's wrong to abuse someone but that wasn't the original question of this thread.....i gave a scenario and asked if it is domestic violence or not and it was done in response to the verbal abuse.

TOllereance to different abuse is different.........women keep abusing emotionaly anything that comes their way (that includes the crying and tears to emotionally blackmail a person, playing victim to make another person look as zaalim...and on on...........
some guys have the patient to take it........take on n on on on....for ever........they don't get charged/don't get into namecalling fight/they just walkaway.......
some on the other hand are agressive/emotional..........when someone keeps torturing him with sam thing over n over again........he can loose his cool and become agressive and hit her or anyone...
so the fault for the situation is on all parties, the women if they keep saying things they know will tick the other person off.........the men who keep abusing phsycially their wife for anything..........equally bad
Re: Does this fall under Domestic Violence?
^hmmmm…make sense. :k:
