Re: Does smoking Hookah come across negatively if you're a girl?
Unless your mum is very familiar with the environment of sheesha bars, smoking 'hookah' for old school Pakistanis is very much associated with elderly people, and there's nothing particularly pleasant and attractive the way 60 year old chaudary/chuhdrain smokes that thing. It maybe all fashionable to smoke sheesha nowadays, but 10-20 years ago, not many young girls would have found it cool to copy the ways of an elderly person. Besides not to mention its obviously bad for your health, so forgive people for not finding anything positive about it.

Yeah it's pretty popular among college kids here, they just have loads of random sheesha's which is basically all about the different flavours you can smoke really.
Doesn't get you high or anything though.

Flavour does not create smoke. The tobacco does. No way they can just smoke flavours - that is a chemical and not natural. It wouldn't burn nor create smoke.

I don't like smokers and I definitely ain't marrying one! When I first heard of this sheesha culture, I immediately linked it to smoking and hated it. But then I spoke to some of my arab friends about it and it didn't seem like a big deal. I'd be worried if you were smoking sheesha everyday but every once in a while is okay. I won't judge girls any differently than men, why discriminate?!
