My mother HATES the idea of girls smoking Hookah.

I don’t really like it but don’t consider it bad either.

Is it perceived negatively?

I find it more offensive than smoking. I HATE the bottle genie contraptions.....it is very much in vogue in Dubai and other hotspots but I am extremely turned off by the whole atmosphere of hookah lounges and the flavors.

Kinda. I honestly do judge girls for smoking sheesha or anything else really.

Yeah, my mom says girls look “chichori” and “awaaragardh” but my cousins in Lahore go and smoke sheesha for fun regardless. And they are def. not chichori or awara, lol. As for Hookah, my nana used to smoke that so my whole family associates it w/ old seniors. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m curious about sheesha, though. I smoked ciggies when I was 13 once or twice and I’m sure I didn’t even smoke them correctly. We thought we were such bada*ses. :halo:

Okay, whats the difference between Hookah and sheesha? I thought it was the same thing?

Exactly the same thing. Just different names depending on who you're talking to.

Pakistan India - Hooka (Huqqa?)

Persian Gulf - Sheesha

Mediterranean - Argileh

I thought in Hooka there is actual tobacco that’s used but in sheesha its just flavour so its not harmful :confused:

Both use tobacco. Just flavoured tobacco. Theyre both pretty "bad" because of the amount of smoke going into your lungs. I don't think ciggies make that much smoke, but they are more addictive. Hookah sessions do last longer so they are probably both just as bad.

Yeah its definetely not lady like. My mom once saw a Pakistani girl smoking hookah and called her "Cigarette kay moun wali" LMAO

lol, women are judged more harshly for everything. Smoking is just as bad for both genders.

So, why do people keep saying sheesha isn't bad. I guess they are trying to fool themselves.

The Health service in the UK had posters up once saying a shisha pipe can be the equvilent of smoking 100 cigarettes in one sitting..

I dont see anything special about it.. Only time i am judgemental about girls smoking it is wen they get overly hyped up and totally try tonact as though its making them high. I’ve tried it here in the uk it was just hmm after two puffs had it once on holiday out in egypt that was some strong hookah.!! I lasted 1 puff.! Lol
