My wife use to do it a lot before we got married, Arabs tend to do it a lot. After marriage I slowly asked her to stop, now she has stopped completely.
It just doesn't look very lady like, but more importantly it is bad for your lungs.
Further most Hookah bars are simply places for guys and gals to hook up, esp here in Houston the dudes just sit there and stare the girls down.
However the main thing is it's not good for your lungs, people think hooka isn't bad for you but it is.

sheesha is very very harrmful ,more than cigs because it has Tar in it. I studied this entire thing in my health psychology just when sheesha lounges etc was on the rise.
As for judging girls :when are they not . If you wear traditional clothes you're not modREN. if u wear western wear you're 2 modRen.If a girl is happy having sheesha then so be it ,a lot of people don't like it ,let them be the judge of it:)

i find it a turn off for guys and yes, I tend to associate certain types of men and women with hookah smoking primarily because of the atmosphere of the sheesha lounges--they seem like more "appropriate" versions of clubs (using the term appropriate VERY loosely).

I don't judge them but once in a blue moon I will take a hit. The amount of desi girls I see smoking hookah, I'm surprised its not popular with the desi crowd.

I've had this conversation so many times with some of my guy friends, some of them are just dead against their wives/partners smoking sheesha because it 'looks wrong'.
While I don't really sheesha much myself, you'd have to have your mind in the gutter to see it as a dirty thing when a girl does it :/

errrrr Not negatively as in awara and all those terms, but yes, odd and obviously not lady-like. I guess I will lose a little respect in the gaze of a beholder if I am found smoking that hookah pipe, or a cigarette too, for that matter, in a public place. For fun in private, I dont think it matters much.

My mother HATES the idea of girls smoking Hookah.
I don't really like it but don't consider it bad either.
Is it perceived negatively?

my mum and dad hate it to the core but it is such a common thing here!!! and seriously, hookah is the only 'bad' thing i do! we girls meet up occasionally and have some shisha (as it is more commonly known here).
however, i will never want my now 15 yr old sister to ever try it. :D it's bad.. but well... chalta hai. and yes my mum says that girls should never hookah
Before being preggers, me and my husband used to smoke sheesha occasionally..just for fun we were not addicted to it or something..my husband having sharai beard and me in abaya-smoking sheesha-people used to stare as if right type(assuming us as molanas) of people doing wrong type of thing:konfused: i dont get it y do people hate it so much..i mean being addicted to it is bad but cant u do it for fun once in a blue moon?
But yea back in my college days..me and my friends used to do it way too much..used to hang around in sheesha lounges which r considered to b sort of clubs of pak..now those places ARE bad..and can b hated and considered as place for chichore people..

What would Freud say about the subconscious of ladies that smoke hookah? The only way it will be acceptable is if it the hookah is pink, covered with rhinestones, and emits a fruity fragrance. It makes the prospect of getting cancer appear more cute.
