Yes silence of the bride during the Nikah ceremony assumes willingness on her part to proceed with the ceremony in some cases that I have heard about, the reasoning given was the bride can not appear too anxious to say Yes out loud, for betrothel to a complete stranger.

it depends on the situation....sometimes silence may in real speak louder than words...n at times it mite be taken for as a no, confusion, lack of interest or whatever.....

Other than what is already mention above, it also depends upon how sensitive a person is towards you. If he is too sensitive he would try to deduce meanings from your silence and read your mind, if he is not, he wouldn't care about what thoughts are running in your mind

well sometimes i like to speak with silence! And u know ppl just know i am upset or mad when i am silent! but thats just me...it could be that its my attitude and not my silence!
but yes i do think silence in general speaks volumes!!! its a language thats harder to disect, to understand....but still it does speak volumes, and perhaps thats the problem. Its really not a straight forward answer, its like someone throwing a book at you for a question that needed a yes or no answer!
