Mehnaz, they are all the same (after marriage). Trust me. Men or women, doesn't matter. The wedding cake does some screwed up magic. Before marriage, sure everything is hunky dory.

Well how would you explain all the fairly successful marriages out there? Do you think they all just sacrificed their individual dreams and put it on the fire? That would ultimately mean that these people aren't really happy. Compromising is one thing, but I don't for a minute believe that means you have to give up your dreams/goals/desires, etc. If you end up with a partner who wants you to give everything up, then that sucks. Not everybody is like that though.
I am not saying that every spouse is a dream crusher. Ofcourse, there will be a few exceptions. But marriage is mostly a sacrifice of your independence. I really commend people who get married and work hard to keep it up. It's not an easy job.
And having said all what I said in the posts above, I would still recommend marriage. I think everybody should try it at least once.
Better to discuss your dreams and aspiration LONG BEFORE you get married then have them "crushed" by an inflexible spouse (husband or wife) later in the married-life. It seems like everyone is taking a "chance" here. :)
Fungo, why would you wana play guitar? Learn Tabla man.
It depends what kind of marriage it is. No two marriages are alike. Generally speaking, if your parents have a happy marriage, the chances that you will have a happy marriage are more than those that come from unhappy marriage households. Because if you see bickering all the time in the house, you are scared to enter into a relationship and when you do enter into one, you are too conscious to feck it up, and that suppresses your natural instincts, which leads to unhappy married life.
As a rule, successful marriages are between people who complement one another and not necessarily those who are very alike – mentally and otherwise. Couples that have the same professions make lousy couples. I will be bored to death discussing marginal productivity of labor in industrial urban sector and how it suppresses wages in rural agricultural sector, with my wife all the time.
I think this talk about wanting to feel ‘complete’ is a just a rumor spread by Republicans. I have never ever in my life heard from any one of my married friends (over 2 millions) that their reason to get married was to complete themselves. I don’t know why you unmarried young kids fall for crap like that. You make it sound like if marriage is like some kind of enhancement or enlargement surgery. It is not. It has nothing to do with your being complete unless you are completely messed up.
Gosh madhanee..youa re getting funguy all wet. ![]()
Madhanee, stop feeding us bullshiit. 90% of married MEN (including yourself and the in and out guy below you) would love to break away free if they had the balls. They are just waiting for the WOMEN to tell them what to do.
^ We are the remaining 18 % you jerk. Donno about the in-out guy, but since my wife now makes tons more money than I do, there’s no way I am breaking away. It’s not about the balls. Balls are useless anyway - something that you will learn when you get married.
Funguy adn madhanee, why can’t we get outside of percentages and speak in ratios. I think it is actually around -4/5 which I belive is an irrational number thus verifying funguy’s life. :adab arzay: ![]()
I was complete, when I was born.
Since when is -4/5 an irrational number? ![]()
.
funguy, its not funny, stop playing around with my texts. ![]()
complete in sense, that I had everything needed into turing ME.
Since when has it been not one.
Sorry Saadia, I don't know how that happened. I feel like a dumb and gorgeous guy right now.

Math 101
An irrational number is a number that cannot be expressed as a fraction for any integers p and q. Irrational numbers have decimal expansions that neither terminate nor become periodic. Every transcendental number is irrational.
-4/5 = fraction
