piercing is not allowed in Islam as it is not only altering your body but putting you in one group or other...depending upon which way the piercing is done and size of them etc..and can be identified as such.
circumcision is the exception as it has been ordered by Allah.
I was just reading a book by Late Ahemad yaar a sunni scholar from Gujrat. he has written in his book when was the first time the ears were poerced
He mentions that Abin abbas(RAUH)that once Hazrat Sara and Hajra had some qurrel among each other and Hazrat Sara swear that she will cut some part of hazrat Hajra's body. God sent Jabreel to Hazrat Abharam (alhaslam) that go a make solaw between both. Hazrat Sara said they what about my kasam or swear. At that time there was whee from AllAh that hazrat Zara koo hokum doo that she pierced hazrat Hajra's ear. that was the time when the ears were pierced...
Since all this was written in urdu and I have tried my best to translate in english. I beg Allah's mercy if I miss interperted.
Well, it might be against islamic law in theory, but in practice just about all women in Pakistan have something or other pierced. Earrings and kokhas are commonplace.

Why didn't Allah make it way he wanted it in the first place.
Nature doesn't provide you with a part and then tell you to cut it off.**

Ummm hang on.......
If you look at it so scientifically......there quite a few organs left behind in evolution which are not needed in humans.....and can be removed without any hinderence to body functions..... Appendix (sp?).....part of spleen...someparts of liver can be removed.....and they sometimes are removed cuz they pose threat to life

piercing is not just only thing that pakistan women do. there are many other things which are SIN and we do it like it is our right. For example. take pics of any living breath thing is SIN and use of those pics are sin as well. but as we see in our country. wait why go that far we do thses things on daily basics each and every one of us. we take pics every day, we post pics in this forum. We go to studios to get potraits and put them in our house. we know that this is not right but we still do it.
Theory is theory, the real thing is to apply that theory to pratical use. Which we are so far of it.
May Allah give is tufiq to understand these things and practice them on daily basics.

We think so because we are not fully knowledgble about the functioning of human body at one time people thought tonsils should also be removed but now we know differently.
The skin protects the organ helps to retain the sentivity..i have told that by a medical researcher.
If it is not important, evolution would have taken care of it like it has, in the past.

it is mandatory that we place authentic sources to prove our views. If we can not provide them then we must state that we do not have the source. Logic alone does not prove anything.
circumcision has been proved to cut down on sexually transmitted diseases. And in 100% of recent surveys in women's magazines, they have expressed a preference for circumcised men, so to show our reverence to female wishes, I think this practice should be encouraged.

scientifically..thats your problem. Scientifically..you can have only one hand hand, one ear, one feet and still survive.
then why GOD gave us two. That is just being stuipd and questions what GOD gave us.
Not all human have that problems. I don't and I am sure that many other members have nothing every taken out their body which was posing threat to their life.
Why do things happen? Every thing comes from Allah, he can make you sick, make you well again. and so on. So if you say that why people get sick, then who are you really questioning. GOD right.
and it is not in our best interest to questions GOD. he runs every thing and nothing happens without its will.

As a woman I'm sure you'll agree.**

I disagree sexually tansmitted diseases will get you if you are promiscuous, lots of priests in North America are dying of AIDS. As for women's preferrence they are only polling women who read the magzine (i never do) therefore not accurate at all. I know of christian father who literally camped in the hospital so that his son will not circumcised. He himself was circumcised and he shared with us lack of sensitivity he and many others have to put up with as a result of circumcision.

Time out.
this was not the question who did and who didn't.or any stories about circumcision. Please read the subject and they post answer according to that only.... not just some priest stories..
circumcision was ordered from a cleanliness point of view..
if you have foreskin.. there will be build up underneath it which you will have to clean periodically.
quite a difficult problem if you live in desert and dont have water to clean yourself.. and taking it form a guys point of view.. i don't think i would want to rub sand to clean it then find all the sand has not dispersed.. and leaving it there would present further problems - rash etc.. and therefore.. to prevent all this .. a bit useless skin taken away.. i am all up for it.
