I saw a group of youngsters (early 20s) mixed, smoking, dancing..on the beach and praising Musharraf and slandering "mullahs" (whatever that means).
Most of the youngsters of today have same attitude :(

It was a fifth estate documentary (titled: why democracy). i think theres a real crisis of priorities thats afflicting our society. we were only granted freedom once our mental colonization was complete so for instance now the brightest individuals from secondary schools go for medicine and engineering, while the stupidest end up taking on religious studies. So the latter not only develop this inferiority complex, but because they lack the mental rigour, their insane rulings have a negative influence on the entire society. If thats all true, then one shouldn't be surprised to see individuals (misguided, perhaps) rebelling against the ulema who were put there for their stupidity.

- Dancing is a Pakistani practice, and that's culture. You can't take away culture and expect everyone to live like you. That's your problem. You expect peopleto live like you. Do you see us moderates complaining about how you guys DON'T dance? No, beause we respect your beliefs and say fine, and don't complain. In fact, we respect extreme beliefs so much that we've let a bunch of Extremists build their factories of hate on our borders and allowed them to take over our villages, and render a number of human rights abuses that put BB and NS to shame.
ummm, just a friendly reminder that we are talking about the ISLAMIC republic of Pakistan. This means that our religion should dictate what is and isn't ok in regards to our culture, not the other way around.
Its not about the "religous" ppl pointing fingers at ppl saying that this or that is haram, its a general understanding that some things just aren't allowed in our religion (like men and women dancing together, drinking, etc etc)
